Presented at the MIGARS Conference organized by @IEEE_GRSS. Inspiring to engage with the #remotesensing community in NZ & witness the work being done here. Moreover meeting delegates from 15 countries provided a valuable opportunity to create global connections!

Congratulations to Jokotola @taiwojokotola who has successfully defended her @MarsdenFund PhD "Multiscale Erosion Dynamics of Shore Platforms" using Micro-erosion Meters and Structure from Motion. MEM erosion rates don't always scale! Fantastic achievement given the last 3 yrs
Rounded off with The rhythm of the shoreline, patterns in waves, sand and jazz. An amazing inaugural professorial lecture by the amazing @cocoltrane (note the use of hands to explain beach cusp formation)
Got to be a part of a panel discussion @AucklandUni as a @TonkinTaylor rep & share my story as a South Asian immigrant woman navigating the science & engineering space. Much needed dialogue on increasing diversity and inclusion in the engineering workforce.

I am thrilled to share my Ph.D research with you all at CAA2023 in Amsterdam, which utilizes a multi-scalar approach to better understand how sea level rise and coastal erosion impact archaeology in Aotearoa/New Zealand. 1 of 3

Finally got to present at the Coastal Restoration Trust at @AutScience, after two years of postponement! Could very well be the last PhD presentation at a conference. Kinda bitter sweet, but oh well life goes on 🥲

Super excited to share the news that I'll be joining @TonkinTaylor as a Natural Hazards Geomorphologist! It was a tough yet rewarding decision to switch from Academia to Industry. Look forward to this new chapter in my life!

Conducted #laserscan at Rothesay Bay to assess the damage after #CycloneGabrielle. Many slips were noticeable. Interestingly a small talus has appeared beside the one formed in 2017 after Cyclone Debbie. Need to monitor the new talus in the coming months.

I talked to @AucklandUni's Prof Mark Dickson about what further damage Gabrielle is likely to do our coasts, where many seacliffs are already destabilised and beaches - our natural defence systems - face the cyclone with depleted sand volumes https://t.co/IoTmEvYmw5
Got awarded as one of the best talks at the New Zealand Geotechnical Society today! Was an awesome place to network and made a lot of contacts as well!

Super stoked to have received the best student presentation award at the @CoastalNZ conference! Appreciate the judges & organization's efforts for recognizing and giving PhD students a platform to showcase their #research. @chardalinghaus received the runners up award!

You deserved it @lovleenac!! Great work and an amazing presentation! I'm honoured to be able to share this moment with a great researcher and also such a good friend! 🥰
