Great to visit Scarborough Mates today to see their facilities and all the activities they offer to help deal with social isolation. We all feel lonely from time to time and we are lucky to have the Mates here to give anyone a warm welcome and support, along with a bit of banter!
We are lucky to have such fantastic children's services at @northyorksc. Delighted they have been recognised as outstanding by Ofsted. An exciting opportunity to join the team and help to continue to deliver excellent services to children in the county!

Amazing turnout today at the 81st Goathland Village Show! Congratulations to all the prize winners, there was so much talent on display. Thank you to Colin Pyrah and his team for making it such a special day.
Great to speak to local volunteers and charities at the Scarborough Fire Station Open Day! We are lucky so many people give up their time to give back to our community. And the rain held off until the end! 🚒
Talking about freedom, sat in Margaret Thatcher’s old Rover.
Earlier I spoke to @Telegraph about how important cars are for families to live their lives. It’s something anti-motorist Labour just don’t seem to get.
And it’s why I’m reviewing anti-car schemes across the country.
Lots of exciting ideas for the future of further education and post-16 skills from @GillianKeegan and Miriam Cates. Important to rebalance the economy and invest more in FE and vocational degrees to stop the brain drain from local communities.
Chanukah Sameach! Good to join @RBKCMayor and Cllr Dori Schmetterling in the lighting of the second candle in Portobello Green tonight. Thank you Chabad Notting Hill and @NottingHillRabb for organising a joyful evening with lots of latkes and donughts! #HappyHanukkah 🕎
Today is #AntiSlaveryDay, we’re proud to support #ArtIsFreedom, an exhibition created by survivors of #ModernSlavery.
The exhibition outside South Kensington Station is co-created by survivors who have been supported by
@Hestia1970.

@Josh_Macc Yes I'm sure he did admire the Pope, but that doesn't mean he wasn't fearing for his life. There was a reason why he was being hid by the Pope in the first place...
@Josh_Macc This is such an ignorant statement. Have you considered that the Chief Rabbi of Rome converted to Catholicism during the war out of fear of persecution and death like all Jews in Europe...? The Great Synagogue of Rome was only saved because the Nazi's used it as their HQ.
Timing is everything! Managed to (mostly) avoid the rain over the last two days whilst zipping around Chesham and Amersham to help get @pdfleet elected! Only 25 days to go! #voteconservative
Glad to hear from senior @MPSBarnet officers that pan-London extra resources will be deployed in Barnet tonight for community reassurance. @BarnetCouncil are working closely with @metpoliceuk to respond to today's events. #StandWithBritishJews
Shocked to hear of yet another young 21 year old man stabbed to death in Barnet, this time at Brent Cross Shopping Centre. @SadiqKhan has failed Barnet residents by not keeping them safe. Time for a fresh start with @ShaunBaileyUK.
@SeldomGruntled@Linda4EB He seems like a great chap who genuinely cares about East Barnet (regardless of Brexit). This is why I don't like the fact councils are party political bc good people get clumped under a party banner. It seems that Linda has blocked me so much for caring about residents views.
@BarnetReal@SeldomGruntled@Linda4EB Always been a Labour voter, but started engaging locally with the Tories because more and more agreeing with what they stand for.
@SeldomGruntled@Linda4EB Council's would probably be much better if they weren't party political. I'm not sure who to vote for, but idk if we need another Cllr that is just going to sit on their arse all year & appear only when they want our votes. What are your thoughts on the Tory Cllr, Felix Byers?
@SeldomGruntled@Linda4EB I've always traditionally voted Labour locally but there's nothing I've seen from this campaign that makes me particularly enthusiastic to vote Labour. Definitely considering using my vote elsewhere.
