En el mes del orgullo quisiera hablar de la filosofa lesbiana Marilyn Frye quien planteo hace 40 años en su tesis algo que sigue incomodando: la cultura masculina heterosexual es, en realidad, homoerotica.

Todo o casi todo lo que es propio del amor, la mayoría de los hombres heteros lo reservan exclusivamente para otros hombres (lealtad, admiracion, respeto, la reverencia, la imitación, el deseo de aprender y ser reconocidos por alguien, los vínculos profundos)

La mayoría de las cosas que hacen los hombres son para impresionar otros hombres: posesiones, trabajo, inclusive las mujeres que las muestran como trofeos.

A las mujeres le piden devoción, servicio y sexo. Lo que ofrecen cómo respeto hacia ellas suele ser paternalismo, y lo que llaman "honor" es ponerlas en un pedestal, porque es una forma de control, no de respeto.

El patrón se nota hasta en los gestos mas cotidianos. Ven deportes porque se supone que les gusta los deportes, pero solo ven deportes practicados por otros hombres, como si lo que les gustara fuera que los practican ellos, más que el deporte en sí.

Escuchan con desdén a una mujer y luego asienten cuando un hombre repite exactamente lo que ella dijo. El contenido no cambió, cambia quien lo emitio. Defienden ideologías machistas, misoginas, racistas y autoritarias muchas veces no por convicción profunda sino porque adoptarlas les compra la pertenencia a un grupo de hombres.

Los hombres aman a otros hombres (en el sentido amplio: los admiran, los respetan, viven para su mirada) y usan a las mujeres como instrumentos de ese vinculo: como trofeos, como conquista, como contraste para definirse como hombres de verdad.

Hasta el dios que adoran es hombre. Lo imaginan padre, lo llaman señor, le rezan como al patriarca celestial que crea con la palabra, desde afuera, sin cuerpo y sin entrañas. Pero la creación de la vida en la tierra ocurre dentro del cuerpo de una mujer. Lo mas cercano a dios que existe en la experiencia humana: es una mujer.

Esa es la tragedia silenciosa del amor heterosexual en el patriarcado: las mujeres se enamoran, paren hijos, envejecen al lado de hombres que, en el fondo, las detestan. Duermen abrazadas a quienes, si tuvieran que elegir entre su dignidad y la aprobación de otros hombres, elegirían a los otros hombres sin pensarlo.

A pesar de ser heterosexuales, actúan como si odiaran a las mujeres: las critican, no las escuchan, las engañan, las maltratan. Las matan.

Studio Heartbreak says ‘The Lovers’ has officially finished production.

The film will release on YouTube for free soon after premiering at several festivals first, including the Annecy Film Festival.

The first trailer for LAIKA's new film ‘WILDWOOD’ has been released.

The film follows a girl who enters a magical forbidden forest to rescue her kidnapped baby brother.

Anne Hathaway turned down the bigger role in Brokeback Mountain on purpose. She fought for the smaller one. There was a single scene in it that she needed Meryl Streep to watch. And Streep wasn't even in that movie.

Streep was attached to The Devil Wears Prada. Anne wasn't on the studio's list. She was the Princess Diaries girl. Fox wanted Rachel McAdams.

Fox offered McAdams the role three times. She said no every time. McAdams had just done Mean Girls and The Notebook back to back. She wanted out of big Hollywood for a while. She told Elle in 2007: "I'm not going to make movies just to make movies."

So Fox went down the list. Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson, Kirsten Dunst, Claire Danes, Juliette Lewis. Dozens of others auditioned. Anne was choice number nine.

Her problem was the Princess Diaries. People who ran Hollywood looked at her and saw a kids' movie face. They needed someone tough enough to play a New York journalist getting yelled at all day by a fashion editor.

Anne fixed this herself. When Brokeback Mountain was casting, they offered her Alma, the bigger of the two wife roles. (Michelle Williams ended up playing Alma.) Anne turned it down. She told the casting team she wanted the smaller part of Lureen, Jack Twist's Texas wife. "Just trust me," she said.

Lureen had one scene that mattered. She gets a phone call. She has to tell the man on the other end that her husband is dead.

That was the audition. Director Ang Lee showed Meryl Streep that scene privately, before the movie came out. Streep watched, met Anne in person, then called Tom Rothman, who ran Fox at the time, and said: "Yeah, this girl's great, and I think we'll work well together."

Anne kept pushing. She went into Fox executive Carla Hacken's zen garden and wrote "hire me" in the sand with her finger.

She was at home putting on a shirt with friends over when her agent called. She ran half-dressed into the living room screaming.

The movie came out June 30, 2006. It cost $35 million to make and earned $326 million worldwide, almost ten times its budget. Streep got an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe. Anne won her own Oscar seven years later for Les Misérables. The sequel opened in theaters yesterday, twenty years after the first one.

Anne later said she didn't have to audition for The Devil Wears Prada. She just had to be patient. Patient meant getting cast in a movie she'd never auditioned for, by a star who picked her based on a film that hadn't come out yet.
