Maple Class thoroughly enjoyed consolidating and celebrating learning from their Roman topic by performing an assembly to parents and carers. They even learnt some of the shield formations the Roman's used during combat including Testudo and Cuneum Formate. @historyinaction

Acorn Class enjoyed visiting Newington C of E Primary School to listen to a talk from the Guide Dog Association. The highlight of our visit was getting to stroke and cuddle the two guide dogs who had come to visit. @guidedogs#activelearning
In English Willow Class have been focusing on poetry, creating a list poem & then a rhyming poem on colour. In geography they have compared human features in Kent with Tulum. Well done to those who created a fantastic poster on Stephen Hawking, they all look amazing. #busy
Willow class enjoyed Maths day on Wednesday. Everyone decorated a fish to create a whole school tessellation. We created detailed images, using tessellation within each fish, everyone’s looked brilliant & we look forward to the final piece. #Mathsinaction
Maple Class started their DT topic on Levers and Linkages. The class made a prototype mechanism in pairs before we go on to plan our individual moving designs next session. #dtinaction
Hawthorn class took part in the RSPB Big Schools’ Birdwatch. They took a tally of how many different birds they saw in the school grounds. The birds had to have landed on the ground or in a tree, flying birds did not count! @RSPBEngland
Yesterday the children at Lower Halstow School had fun trying out circus skills. Everyone tried a variety of skills from balancing peacock feathers on themselves, tight-rope walking, juggling, walking on peddles, spinning plates, hoopla hoops & using a Diablo. #trysomethingnew

Fence building, whittling & mud painting were the focus for Hawthorn's Forest School session this week. Forest School encourages independence, problem solving, perseverance & cooperation as well as allowing everyone to engage with the outdoor environment. #forestschool
