hurmat’s storyline feels like it’s moving at 2x speed lately i’m hoping this is intentional pacing to build towards something substantial rather than a lack of direction, because the story has so much potential to be explored with more depth and nuance!!

hurmat’s father wants to protect her but can’t even give her the freedom to make her own choices, being a parent means guiding your daughter, not making every decision for her if she has no voice in her own life that’s control, not protection!!

this scene reflects a society where daughters are raised in homes they’re taught they’ll never truly belong to sons inherit the home, daughters grow up hearing “mehmaan” in same. Perhaps patriarchy begins by making a girl feel like a guest in the very place she calls home
