@NateDanielsDSP I always told parents that unless your child plans on playing college ball, and has the ability to do so based upon an unbiased evaluation, or you have a lot of free money laying around, then travel ball is a waste of time and money.

@NateDanielsDSP I get the concern. All the teams I worked with during my 14+ years as an Adidas rep showed me the inner workings of many a travel club. Long story short, a lot of it has to do with the guaranteed play time in Rec for all players, regardless of talent or effort.

@NateDanielsDSP There is definitely a need for rec sports, though. Not every child has the financial means or ability to play travel, unfortunately. But it needs to be a meritocracy, in my opinion.
