We need more bins & more efficent collections but, for me, the ‘someone else will deal with it’ selfishness is at the root of the issue.
The neighbour couldn't get a puncture on their son's bike repaired until late July! So I repaired it for him, 5 minute job and I didn't mind in the slightest. Left the bike in the hall for them and they left me a bottle of champagne. 😁
