Life's Podium
First we are golden courageous peacemakers loyal to Love commands.
Next we are imperfect agnostic humans adapting nurtured Nature.
Finally we are bronze brave warriors battling broke because of silver
Pelley said she was murdering 60 Minutes. He was fired the next morning. Alfonsi gone. Vega gone. The 30-year EP gone. Colbert called the Trump settlement a bribe and was out within days. Rather wants an asterisk on every story this fall: "Approved by Donald Trump." At 94 he still reads the room.
Nick Bilton walked into the 60 Minutes newsroom four days after Bari Weiss fired the people who built the show. He tried to pretend he didn't know about the firings. Scott Pelley, in front of the remaining staff, would not let that stand.
"She loves 60 Minutes," Bilton said. "She's murdering 60 Minutes," Pelley said back. "She does not love this place. She was brought in to kill it - and she's doing exactly that."
One of Weiss's lieutenants kept interrupting to say Pelley was being rude. Pelley kept going.
JVL's framing is the right one. The corrupter depends on the existing institution being too polite to say the obvious thing out loud. Christopher Wray resigned quietly to "preserve the integrity of the FBI." John Kelly gave print interviews after he left. Thom Tillis, John Cornyn, Mitch McConnell, Jim Mattis, Bill Barr - all of them saw it. All of them objected privately. None of them said it in the room where it was happening, to the person doing it, while the cameras were still running.
Pelley said it in the room. To the person's face. In front of witnesses. While he still worked there.
That is a different thing entirely. Not a memoir. Not an anonymous source in a tell-all. Not a carefully worded statement issued after the resignation letter was already filed. The true thing, said out loud, to the people who needed to hear it, at the moment it could still matter.
Authoritarianism counts on politesse. It counts on people deciding the fight isn't worth the awkwardness, the career risk, the label of being difficult. Scott Pelley decided it was worth it. The republic needs more of that calculation to come out the same way.

This is your daily reminder: the U.S "president" @realDonaldTrump is a pedophile. And @SpeakerJohnson@DAGToddBlanche and the @GOP@HouseGOP@SenateGOP are ALL covering it up.
FACT: Jeffrey Epstein had 14 phone numbers connected to @realDonaldTrump in his black book of contacts.
FACT: Thanks to the Ghislaine Maxwell's trial and the newly released Epstein files, we know Donald Trump flew on Epstein's private jet 8 times.
FACT: @realDonaldTrump told us long ago who he was in regards to Jeffrey Epstein:
“I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, AND MANY OF THEM ARE ON THE YOUNGER SIDE. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”
FACT: The narrative that Donald Trump "testified" against Jeffrey Epstein in 2009 is a FALSE narrative MAGA use to excuse Trump.
Donald Trump NEVER testified against Jeffrey Epstein. He merely gave information to Epstein's victims lawyers.
Brad Edwards, an attorney who represented Epstein's victims, said in 2018, that Trump was "the only person who picked up the phone and said, 'Let's just talk. I'll give you as much time as you want. I'll tell you what you need to know.'"
Brad Edwards said he never took Trump’s deposition. So, obviously, Trump didn't provide damaging information regarding Epstein to help his clients.
FACT: In a court document, the question is asked of a witness:
Q: It's true also, is it not, that Mr. Trump was a frequent visitor to Mr. Epstein's residence?
A: I-- I know that he visited frequent. I -- I don't have a lot of information about Trump.
FACT: In video testimony, Katie Johnson said Donald Trump took interest in her when she was around 13 years old bcos she reminded him of his daughter - ie, Ivanka.
FACT: Katie Johnson's court documents detailing @realDonaldTrump grotesque rape and pedophilia are publicly available.
FACT: Katie Johnson's case was NOT dismissed bcos she lied - as MAGA believes. She voluntarily withdrew the case bcos she received death threats and the law firm representing her received bomb threats.
FACT: In released court documents, Sarah Ransome, one of Jeffrey Epstein's "recruiters" wrote in emails regarding a 12 year old little girl saying - and I quote - "She confided in me about her casual 'friendship' with Donald. Mr Trump definitely seemed to have a thing for her and she told me how he kept going on about how he liked her 'pert nipples.'"
FACT: Sarah Ransome's email, in released court documents, also stated - and I quote - "I also know she had sexual relations with Trump at Jeffery's NY mansion on regular occasions."
FACT: According to ex-CBS producer Ira Rosen, Ghislaine Maxwell claimed that Jeffrey Epstein had tapes of his friends having sex, including Donald Trump. However, she stated she didn't know where the tapes were located.
FACT: Norm Lubow told Snopes that he heard about Katie Johnson's allegations from a friend at a party sometime around 2014 and then HELPED HER move forward with the lawsuit, produce the video, and publicize her allegations to the media.
His ONLY involvement was attempting to sell Katie Johnson's story to the media. That's it.
FACT: About 1,000 FBI agents were ordered to redact @realDonaldTrump name from the Epstein Files.
FACT: 53 pages of FBI interview documents and notes related to sexual abuse allegations mentioning Trump were deleted from the DOJ website where FOUR interviews were conducted with one victim, and only one interview was released. The other three hidden.
FACT: EVERYTHING I JUST MENTIONED HERE IS VERIFIABLE.
FACT: @realDonaldTrump - the "president" of the United States is a pedophile.
Dan Rather is 94 years old and he still knows exactly what he's looking at.
"The president and the corporate billionaires who curry his favor have eviscerated the best news program in the world." That is the sentence. And the receipts are not abstract. Scott Pelley - 68 years old, one of the most decorated correspondents in broadcast history - was fired the day after he told Bari Weiss she was murdering the show. Sharyn Alfonsi, gone. Cecilia Vega, gone. The 30-year executive producer, gone. Anderson Cooper walked before they got to him.
The tell Rather identified is this: Paramount settled a $16 million lawsuit with Trump that Rather calls "bogus." Stephen Colbert called it a "big, fat bribe" - and was gone from CBS within days. Now the Ellisons, who are massive Trump supporters, are installing Bari Weiss as the face of a rebuilt 60 Minutes. And Rather is right that Trump won't need to directly sanction stories. The higher-ups already know what the room requires.
Rather's proposed fix is actually the sharpest framing in the whole essay. He wants an asterisk superimposed on every story next fall: "This story was approved by Donald Trump." He's not being hyperbolic. That is the honest label for what the show is becoming.
Questions about Donald Trump's health are growing louder on Capitol Hill.
Rep. Ted Lieu says Americans can see for themselves what is happening, pointing to multiple instances where Trump appeared to doze off during official events, meetings, and most recently at the NBA Finals.
"The president of the United States is not well. We can see it with our own eyes," Lieu said.
Lieu called on the White House to explain Trump's repeated hospital visits and why he is reportedly undergoing cognitive testing.
New from @MacFarlaneNews.
MAJOR BREAKING: Rep. Ted Lieu Just Escalated His Criticism Of Trump.
He says the president has repeatedly fallen asleep at Cabinet meetings, White House events, a Memorial Day ceremony, and even the NBA Finals.
Then came the question.
Why does Trump keep undergoing medical evaluations and cognitive testing?
For months, the White House has insisted the president is in excellent health.
Now critics are pointing to a growing list of public incidents and asking for more transparency.
The White House can dismiss the criticism.
But it can’t stop people from noticing the pattern.
BREAKING: @tedlieu just said what we were all thinking:
"President Trump has repeatedly fallen asleep at multiple Cabinet meetings, at multiple White House events, and most recently at a raucous basketball game last night. The White House needs to explain why Trump keeps going to the hospital and why they keep giving him cognitive tests..
Lieu: The president is not well. He has tremendous difficulty staying awake on the job. He has repeatedly fallen asleep at Cabinet meetings, at White House events, at a Memorial Day ceremony, and most recently at a very loud NBA game last night.
The White House needs to explain why Donald Trump keeps going to the hospital and taking cognitive tests.
Wtfff. Trump is caught on camera at MSG repeatedly stuffing his face with French fries, one after another after another, before he discards his food box on the floor like the thoughtless slob he is.
This Nicks game couldn’t be any more embarassing for Trump.
