The problem with fandom spaces is that some of you are way too self-centered. you want everyone to enjoy and love fiction the way you do, and you impose your personal opinions\preferences on others without holding a place for disagreement. which all leads to a toxic environment.
the fandom that used to be against incel creators for shaming women having their own game and space, calling period trackers gooner stuff are now platforming these same incel men….a mere character can truly change a lot down to people morals I see
Some ships could have existed in a lovely state of mutual non-interference with me if their shippers hadn't spent months/years making their ships everyone else's problem with the energy of an unpaid street evangelist.
Some fandoms create fans, and some create former neutrals.
i think for ships it’s a little different bc shipping is part of the “playing toys with other people” part of fandom. And if all the ppl who play just really irritate you then there’s nothing you can rly do and you might gain a distaste for it
I don't think some of these quotes get how easily toxic shippers can turn someone off from a pairing😭😭 it’s one thing to be passionate about your faves, but many shippers have a weirdly exclusionary view of fandom which is valid for people to be thrown off by
some ships could’ve lived perfectly peaceful lives in my complete indifference if their shippers hadn’t spent years running the most effective negative PR campaign imaginable
the minute i dislike a ship because of its shippers that’s really it for me. i’m never gonna grow to like it and i’m never liking it again if i did like it before lmao
im glad they're filming the scenes in their human form bec i couldn't imagine a large river clam clamping on a red carp while dragging him out of danger
