We left Wakefield at 10am. Estimated arrival time in Greenock, 14:30. Beautiful. Apart from it’s now 17:55 and we’ve already been stuck on the #M74 for 3 hours. @trafficscotland who’s bright idea was it to close one of the busiest motorways in the country on Hogmanay weekend!?

Believe it or not, as the owner of a vehicle I understand weather warnings and how to drive, shock horror! The M74 closure was unnecessary, why did they divert the traffic only to direct it back on to the M74?

@trafficscotland It’s not the flooding that’s the issue. It’s the closure after Jct 13. Localised flooding means we haven’t been able to take an alternative route to Greenock. Surely planning a closure of a main route to the west coast was not in the best interests of anyone involved?
