@CodeTheDream but they are really thoughtful and want to understand what their engineers are doing. you can’t keep up with everything all the time but you can take the opportunity during a meeting to learn something new
@CodeTheDream the other thing that i remind myself regularly of is that you cannot know everything but it’s really important to learn and stay curious. even if you grow in your career you should have that mentality. like the best managers and CTOs i know aren’t the most technically proficient
@CodeTheDream i really struggle with this every day. there’s a lot to be grateful for in terms of the things i’ve learned from other people. and i think a lot of my art builds on what other people have done. but i think i can be responsible for creating new things even if they are derivative
@CodeTheDream i think you need to be communicative and respectful. engineering is a team sport and working with other people is critical to building good products. seek context before solutioning for other people
