1. Empathy - learning in a 2nd language is hard and exhausting. When a speaker was challenging for me to understand, I had to work very hard to stay engaged and not disappear into my phone. This week all those strategies to support ELL in class came alive for me.
2. Create safe spaces for risk taking. I jumped at the chance to present with @Alex076, however I failed to consider that everyone would be speaking French. I understood anywhere from 10-85% at any given time, yet did I not have the courage to speak in French.
@GuptonFCS_LHS I would work on co-planning the guest speakers and field trips with them. Who to invite? What to ask? Where to go? Students are more engaged and learn more when they are part of the planning for Experiential learning. I would also focus on post-reflection to continue the learning
