Minnesota’s nonprofit health plans voluntarily waived cost-sharing requirements very early in the pandemic: Council members supported Minnesotans with $293 million of insurance premium relief and cost sharing waivers in 2020 alone.
NEW: A #COVID19 hospital admission cost an average of $41,611 in 2020.
Patients had to pay an average of $1,280 out of pocket, helped by many insurers’ decisions to waive cost-sharing requirements early in the pandemic.
