@RVAReid @deray It goes beyond inappropriate, that’s emotional abuse and the te her should lose her job for that. It’s behavior like this that gives teachers a bad rap. Sadly these kinds of people are out there
Whoever thought engagement rings were a good idea can kiss my flat Croatian ass, the thought of wearing something so expensive makes me soooo anxious. I’ve already proven I can’t have nice things
“Researcher Kathy Hirsch-Pasek (@KathyandRo1) has a challenge she would like to see lawmakers in Congress take on—call it a dare. She wants all 535 of them to spend a day taking the lead in an early childhood classroom.” https://t.co/dcySyESl0G
@MsKellyMHayes @TerenehIdia This is not to say I think having an active shooter consulting business is a good thing, but in this one case, it did save lives. As a teacher, I’m glad I have this training bc obviously this will continue to happen.
@MsKellyMHayes @TerenehIdia Six months later a gunman killed 11 people at Tree of Life. The only reason more people were not murdered is because the congregation practiced these drills. Every victim but one had physical or cognitive issues which impeded them from getting to safety.
Counting is a part of young children’s daily life. They love to count everything from the stairs they climb to the crackers they eat. But what is counting? Counting seems very simple, but it is really quite complex.

@CBuchanan_Drums It’s just so completely insane and disrespectful. I wish the AFT would organize a nationwide protest/walkout/strike. I’m so sick of being treated like garbage
These renewed calls for teachers carrying guns makes my blood boil. Our job is stressful enough, but you’re gonna put the responsibility of carrying around a lethal weapon on us too? I concentrate on my kids during the school day. I shouldn’t have to worry about a firearm too.
I didn’t work it in because that’s not what today is about, but this teacher talked about how upsetting it is that educators have come under partisan attack this year. Accused of indoctrinating & grooming kids instead of protecting them.
Think about that as you read the ending.
Over 20 years of this bs and the only suggestion is to have teachers do the impossible. The teacher shortage will only get worse if we carry guns. Education is my passion, but I’ll bounce if it gets to that point, as will many others.
Or better yet, why don’t we funnel resources into mental healthcare? From personal+professional experience, those resources are extremely limited. If access to mental health services was widespread, maybe people would work on their emotional pain instead of killing others.
