@JimmyBranch7@HPbasketball Thunder lost depth with their ability to guard wings due to the departure of Dort. Jones gives them a 6’7” wing defender who can scale up defensively and has shot decently from three in college and the NBA, in spite of funky shot.
@brianblsmith1@HPbasketball Realistically, OKC traded away their 8th, 11th and 12th best players in Dort, Joe and Wiggins to get under the 2nd apron to allow more flexibility and avoid the dreaded 2nd apron for one more year by backfilling their roster with talented lottery and mid 1st round picks. Smart.
@thieroprop@UofBasketball@databallr Shai shoots nearly eight percent higher from the field than Luka, along with higher three point percentage and twelve percent higher at the free throw line. So yeah, that all factors into it.
@COSportsNut@SIChrisMannix@OfficialNBARefs Jokic clearly fouls him by climbing over his back long before his leg is grabbed. Joker gets away with these type of tactics and then often flops afterwards with his childish antics.
@TenguMasquer@TheDunkCentral What is it about this era of basketball that the three highest PER’s are happening this season. Yes, all three are great and future HOF’s, but it’s hard not to conclude that the superior spacing in today’s league is helping these stars.
@MavsMuse I pity Dallas. They go from the NBA finals to trading their franchise player months later because they thought he was too fat. I guess this level of pettiness from their fans is understandable. Oh, what could’ve been.
@HoopFocusX Imagine being so good that a 26 point scoring night with a 53% FG on only 15 FGA and some fans are calling it Shai’s worst game in years. This as he leads the Thunder to their twelfth consecutive win with one of the best starts in history at 20-1. That’s a high bar. 😂
@SuaveCEO_ Glad that J-Dub continues to shoot in pregame warmups. With that said, hard not to be a little concerned with no update on his potential return and his right wrist still taped.
@Farbod_E Posts like this are trash. Is this a foul? It is. But literally every game there are dozens of bad/missed calls against both teams. NBA officiating is bad. It’s not rigging, it’s incompetence. Fans simply freezing selected moments to push an agenda. Nothing more, nothing less.
@AndrewKSchlecht Emergency pod, Andrew, please. If you’re able to during your trip to Vegas for summer league with your family. A great time to be a Thunder fan!
@oubbrown008@BrandonRahbar Presti went to Giddey after the season and told him he’d like to use him as the PG to lead the 2nd unit, since that would fit for his skill set and the needs of the team. Giddey after starting his first three seasons and about to enter free agency, said no. So OKC traded him.
@HateuPikachu@twowayshai Luka’s own GM in Dallas didn’t think so and shipped his oversized self to the Lakers. Nico said, can’t win with a overweight superstar who isn’t committed to defense.
@stan12798 @thunderszn13120 Lively and Wallace are both good/great defensive players. But let’s not forget, OKC also acquired the expiring contract of Davis Bertans to have the cap space to sign Isaiah Hartenstein away from NY. That’s two critical pieces of a potential championship team for the Thunder.
@_NBA_Expert @NBA_University@Underdog@UnderdogNBA Last year’s playoffs put my concerns about Shai in the playoffs to rest, especially after he played so well against the Mavs. But after seeing him struggle against Memphis, those doubts are creeping back. He’ll need to be great to get past the next round against Denver or Clips.
@NoaDalzell@ThunderFilmRoom@tvabby Horford was too impactful to winning in OKC and they won too many games, which hurt their tanking. He was shut down halfway through the season and the Thunder ended the season by winning three games after shutting him down. Sent Horford to a winning situation and helped OKC tank.
