Research no longer exists simply out in the field and can be done through scouring social media. I have noticed these patterns and conducted research online in my own work, adding extremely valuable information to my pieces.
As a news consumer, rather than watching the news every night, I stay updated on current events through social media platforms such as Instagram, X, and Tik Tok. Citizen journalists along with major news outlets shape the way I understand current events.
