Horrifying. You start with the tiny possibility that two officers may be walking over to deescalate the abusive one.
Instead, they join in beating a man trying to get out of traffic.
This isn’t a problem of bad apples or incidents. This is an institutional and systemic crisis.
my daughter just said: “why does the media air the looting but not the police brutality that continues to occur against the protestors. it’s as if they want to divide the citizens and inflame the problems we already have for ratings”
she’s 18 months old
So here’s what happened today. The NYPD arrested me at 96th Street and West Side Highway while I was taking photos and video to post to Twitter. I told the police I was with the Press, they walked by me and then turned around and arrested me.
NYPD officers just drove an SUV into a crowd of human beings. They could‘ve killed them, &we don’t know how many they injured.
NO ONE gets to slam an SUV through a crowd of human beings.
@NYCMayor these officers need to be brought to justice, not dismissed w/“internal reviews.”

Watching African American CNN reporter Omar Jimenez and his entire crew get arrested on live TV in the backdrop of burning buildings and an army of state police is absolutely chilling.
This isn’t America.
This literally looks like war torn Nazi Germany.
If you are more invested in attacking the ways people respond to state violence against black people than in attacking the state violence itself, then you are fully in support of oppression.
