La Salle is a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for young men of varied backgrounds, conducted in the tradition of St. John Baptist De La Salle.
Our annual Summer of Service for our rising seniors kicked off Sunday with our trip to Homestead, Florida - 1,200 miles from Wyndmoor. Same mission.
Homestead, Florida is not just any service site, but a Lasallian ministry in our own District of Eastern North America.
The La Salle Educational Center serves the children of migrant farmworkers in a community the Brothers describe as "poor, migratory, and forgotten." They went there on purpose. Our students went to meet them there.
This is what it means to live 1La Salle. All is connected.
Overall, our students will travel an estimated 35,700 combined miles in the service of others through 12 trips this summer.
