Tell me you have no REAL experience shipping production code with AI without telling me you have no real experience with shipping production code with AI.
Blows my mind how many Indie Devs refuse to pay for software…
Like you’re making a piece of software to sell to people and yet you don’t believe in the value of paying for software.
Hum…🤔
What’s with all the AI doomerism?
A lever to gain funding, social capital, and regulatory favor. They need to create the conditions that allow them to build a hierarchical environment wherein they are guaranteed the permanent position of apex predator.
High-quality document AI depends on high-quality OCR, but some of the best available OCR solutions fail to recognize rotated text within documents. We’ve developed an accurate OCR solution to capture text of all rotations, allowing our AI to extract often-missed information. #ml
Real world documents are often messy, with inconsistently rotated text and poor image quality.

@StatsInTheWild@OkVentureForum@ML_Tweet_Bot And if I'm being completely honest, neither did I. I love building software and just wanted to do it on my own (originally a software dev).
@aboutgeo Unfortunately, not. It's sort of coupled to the code in our @anno_lab application. Definitely not against open-sourcing it...just that we're kind of in a move-fast startup mode and haven't don't it. :D
@aboutgeo We use PDF.js as well, but had to replace the rendered text layer with our custom-built one to solve the exact problem you're facing...super difficult to get perfect just like you said, but it was an improvement
@aboutgeo I've had to solve this in the past. Not sure how you're rendering the hidden text layer, but we did it with a 2-phase render. Render 1) Renders positioned text. 2) Measures the DOM node and scales to appropriate size.
8 out of the 9 top stories on NYTimes are negative right now. Google News even worse…. I know there are serious problems in the world but I wonder if it’s healthy for the billion+ people online to read largely negative news about the world every day…

I hope patents like these are easily proved invalid. "I thought of the idea of using a knife to chop an onion, so no one else can use knives to chop onions." https://t.co/GL7U2YaYw5
