Pseudoscience is the use of scientific language and prestige to promote ideas that lack evidence. Astrology is no longer a pseudoscience because even those who believe in it know it's not scientific (and don't care).

When you say "we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest." what kind of agents you're talking about.

These people love drama.

[OpenAI Newsroom @OpenAINewsroom]

We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work.

At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated.

We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.

Life and biological intelligence are intertwined with every possible physical phenomena and at all scales. Whatever conscious is I find difficult to believe it can happen without this deep integration with the universe. Just an intuition.

Scientists are losing their minds over this paper.

They proved every mitochondria in your body is a tiny quantum device running at 71 THz.

And it responds to light.

Researchers detected a mysterious 71.0-terahertz vibration signal. this frequency is only present in healthy, living cells and tissues.

exact moment the cell dies or the mitochondrial structures are broken apart, the signal vanishes completely.

How does this happen?

Classical physics has always struggled to explain the high energy-efficiency of life.

So the team built a quantum model of light-matter coupling and discovered something called a "mito-polariton".

It is a literal quantum superposition state that forms when light couples with lipid ch2 bonds inside functional mitochondria.

This quantum resonance splits the intrinsic vibration mode into two levels, creating that bizarre 71 thz frequency that you only see in living things.

Why does this matter?

Because this quantum state actually acts as a highly efficient channel to modulate atp production in living cells.

our bodies literally use quantum mechanics to generate the energy that keeps us alive.

@shaqube 2. similarly, we do process information (sorting a list alphabetically, making an operation…). The definition of information doesn't require bits, or a description of the device that operates with it.
