@HerBabasLight In truth it was difficult. And even then the empire part was more unexpected in my youth. I was raised to take care of the kingdom until my brother came of age. My father instilled such knowledge into me. I was his favorite child, and as the new oldest I had to be prepared.
@HerBabasLight Tea would be lovely. Have the servants make some, and I will answer any questions you have. *She smiled kindly at the younger woman. Taking her seat with grace, and poise as she invited her young companion to take a seat across from her.*
~The scandalous narrative of Cleopatra the whore often overshadows the history of Cleopatra actually competent ruler. So I’m very excited to see that getting pushed to the forefront. I’m real interested in what this series is like over all.
//Netflix’s Cleopatra documentary looks interesting. I’ve got some critiques. Mainly that seems intent on entering the Cleopatra black or white debate. Something I’m entirely sick of as such concepts are irrelevant in her time period. ~
~They wouldn’t make a documentary on the British royal family today, and dress them like the Tudors. But, all that aside, the narrative here is what I’m most interested in. Cleopatra as an educated, wealthy, strong, and politically powerful woman. A ruler who genuinely cared.~
I did not lose a living child myself. Rather I miscarried on the Ides of March. Losing my would be second child, and their father at the same time. It shattered my heat in a way I can’t explain. I knew then why Isis is also worshiped as a mourner. The grief changes one forever.
Come to Egypt, we have everything. You like silk? I can get that for you. Chinese or Damascus? Special types of coffee, and tea are available here. I also own the library of Alexandria, the pyramids, the Sphinx, and Pharos lighthouse.
@pennylostchild More than technically I do. The entirety of Egypt, and the Ptolemaic Kingdom are my property. I was listing off the popular tourist attractions.
