Get ready Georgia. The negative ads against us are coming.
But that won’t stop us from fighting for a better future for Georgians and focusing on the issues that matter.
The faux "AOC wore expensive clothes!!!" outrage is a classic reminder of the way people love to attack women for "frivolous" femininity. It's a trap: women are forced to adhere to certain beauty standards and then we're mocked for what actually goes into achieving it.
@yrfatfriend Julie from Lady Bird. I felt the whole film would have been way more compelling if the casting was flipped between the main and supporting characters.
"I don't have anxiety because I know I'm doing everything in my power to push back...I'm not optimistic or pessimistic. I'm determined. And I believe we're prepared." Thank you @staceyabrams.
@yrfatfriend Bigger or larger. Like, larger that what exactly? Definitely hate obese, though I would consider that a euphemism. More like a slur. And pretty much anything at the end of the sentence “you’re not fat, you’re...” Just accept my self-identification. Thank you.
As a kid, my parents taught me that if I was ever lost or unsafe I should look for a police officer because they would help me. What I didn't know until much later was that they would help me because I am white, not because they are helpful.
Breonna Taylor’s killers getting off scot free without even a trial is exactly the systemic rot that people are protesting for. All those protests, all the outcry for justice, and can’t even get a trial. Angry doesn’t even come close to how im feeling. #BreonnaTaylor
I don’t want a “cure” for autism, I want the rest of the world to become more accepting of people with differing needs and perspectives. I don’t want to eradicate autism, I want children and teens on the spectrum to know their incredible worth.
I've spent a lot of time working on letting go of perfectionism. Today I painted and let it be what it was. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. Am I satisfied with the end result and so grateful and relieved that I can enjoy creating again? Absolutely.
@yrfatfriend Also, nearly every non-tragic representation of a fat character in media is framed as being about their “finding confidence.” It’s the only arc we’re allowed bc it absolves thin people of all the awful shit they do and say and doesn’t make a statement about actual discrimination
don't think this occurs to most guys, so: when you get into a hotel elevator with a strange woman, try to press your button first. and if you get off on the same floor, exit the elevator first.
