BREAKING: In a stunning moment, Donald Trump just made clear the U.S. government won’t fund childcare services because we’re a big country that’s fighting wars. No wonder the American people don’t think he cares about them. Wow.
Trump: We can't take care of daycare. We're a big country. We're fighting wars. It's not possible for us to take care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these things.
President Trump spent five minutes of his Cabinet meeting boasting of his thrift with a story about negotiating for $5 personalized Sharpies.
The company that makes the permanent markers said the exchange never happened. https://t.co/87XzjYT8Dy
Today, I'm introducing my wealth tax — and more than 50 members of Congress are joining me.
It’s time for the government to start working for American families, not just the ultra-rich.
President Trump, who is in the midst of pressuring senators to curb the use of mail-in voting, voted by mail ballot in Tuesday’s special election in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Donald Trump called mail-in voting “mail-in cheating” on Monday. That same day, news broke that he just voted by mail in a Florida special election.
His polling place is a 15-minute drive from Mar-a-Lago.
He spent the last two weekends there.
He mailed it anyway.
He is now holding the entire country hostage to pass a bill making it harder for you to vote the way he just voted.
Shameless hypocrisy.

Sen. John Kennedy admits on Fox News that the Republicans and Democrats reached a deal to fund TSA, but Trump said, “No. No deals with the Democrats.”
Kennedy says, “It would have worked. We could have had TSA paid by the end of the week.”
This is the Trump shutdown!
Major Alex Klinner has been named by his family as the 2nd of 6 US service members killed in Thursday’s refueling operation to support the US war against Iran. He leaves behind a wife and three children. (Photos from GoFundMe set up to support the family https://t.co/slqBezpmqX)
If you think he cares about gas prices, housing costs, home electricity costs, inflation, no jobs, troops getting killed, grocery prices, health care costs, or anything else that would improve the lives of most Americans, you are wrong.
This exchange just happened on the Senate floor.
Cornyn: “I don’t understand how the SAVE Act disenfranchises voters.”
Durbin: “Happy to explain. Driver’s licenses don’t qualify under the bill. 50% of Americans don’t have passports.”
Cornyn: “Why not just amend it?”
Durbin: “When’s the last time the Senate actually amended a bill?”
Silence.
The SAVE Act requires passport-level documentation to register to vote.
50% of Americans don’t have a passport.
The people least likely to have passports: the elderly, the poor, rural Americans, young first-time voters.
The people most likely to have passports: wealthy Americans.
This is not voter protection.
This is voter selection.
And when a senator suggested fixing it — his own colleague couldn’t name the last time the Senate amended anything.
That’s the Senate in 2026.
America is at war, TSA agents aren’t being paid and this guy is playing golf.
Why are House Republicans continuing to support this train wreck?
Sycophants.
A Jan. 6 defendant pardoned by President Trump for his role in the Capitol attack has been sentenced to life in prison for child molestation and related crimes. https://t.co/0KhHGeuoxm
Massie: Iran is not Venezuela. The Ayatollah was not a president. He was a religious leader… The United States and Israel turned him into a martyr. And in the process of doing so, we've already expended billions of dollars and… solemnly, six American families must now lay to rest their sons and daughters. And for what? This administration can't even give us a straight answer as to why we launched this preemptive war.
