I built this just for fun for a few friends but:
1. it's growing organically
2. people that installed and connected to a few friends use it every day
3. the #1 thing i hear from people is "I text my friends more now" which is perfect. Exactly what I hoped. Talk to your friends!
I built a tiny app last week. Pick 9 friends, take photos, they show up on each other’s home screens.
I shared it on TestFlight and it ended up being pretty fun. It’s in the App Store now.
It took Apple longer to review it than it took me to make it.

What’s so funny about this is we already know this by the number of great ICs that became managers, hated it, and burned out. We turned every IC into a manager.
I suspect this explains some of the burnout I am hearing from my design/dev friends. Our brains respond to texture, variety, novelty – performing the activity engages these features in a way that instructing it to be done does not.
Isn't it kinda crazy that we used to turn on the TV and just watch music videos? I watched VH1 Top Ten all the time. The same songs in a slightly different order over and over.
@cycworker He overturned Roe, has done the most to protect the citizenry from foreign invaders (let in by past corrupt admins), transformed the tax code to better Americans economically et al
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

I have a weekly game night group. There’s a whole coordination conversation every week about who’s hosting and who’s attending. I built and app that automates this. Then I killed the app because the conversation was part of the value of planning, not a cost of it.
Someone told me he thinks dating apps are bad because they let you access connection without having any motion in your life. Normally meeting people requires going out into the world, entering new scenes and navigating unfamiliar situations. You have to be living a life that brings you into contact with other people. Dating apps let you order connection without doing any of that work
My HOA sent me a letter requesting that I stop handing out full-size candy bars for Halloween this year.
-Fun-size bars are usually 15–25¢ each.
-Full-size are around 75¢–$1.
Most people give out 2–3 fun-size anyway, so the real difference is often only a few cents per kid.
Am I crazy, or is it weird for an HOA to police this?
