UPDATE: The saddle sold for $1,524,000, making it the single most valuable piece of horse racing memorabilia ever sold at public auction. Congratulations to the winning bidder and new owner of this historic treasure.
@T_J_Carroll Agree, it would be incredibly hard to split them and it's not like he doesn't deserve the rating. I guess BC will always be one-up on him for maintaining an unbeaten record though. 😉
Michael Buckley and I have not surprisingly spent a lot of time soul searching and thinking over Constitution Hills future and have sadly concluded that he will not be running in the Unibet Champion Hurdle the week after next.
Last Friday night was for us all a magical occasion and we so appreciated his popularity and the love and admiration everybody showed to Conrad , as he is fondly called here.
It was a terrific night for both him, us, and I believe British Horse Racing and we are very aware of the public perception and the possible consequences of running over hurdles and feel it is not fair to ask him and Nico to do it again.
He showed on Friday night that he has another career in front of him that could possibly take us all to new playing fields. I would like to thank the thousands of Constitution Hills supporters and admirers that have shared their sentiments with us and advice on how we should proceed, and I would have to say the poll was as near 50/50 as you could get.
This is a sad day for a lot of us, particularly the National Hunt fraternity that would have liked to have seen Constitution Hill try to regain his crown and sad for all here especially Nico who has spent so much time trying to iron out our jumping issues.
However he leaves the jumping world sound & happy and ready for the next chapter. It has been a staggering journey so far and Michael has had to endure some dark days but of course enjoyed the enormous highs and thrills of an extraordinary horse.
Cheltenham have kindly invited Constitution Hill to parade on Champion Hurdle day to give all his National Hunt supporters the opportunity to say goodbye.

History Made: Forever Young Crowned 2025 JRA Horse of the Year! 🇯🇵🏆
The Japan Racing Association has officially announced the 2025 awards, and Forever Young has secured the ultimate prize
The victory was near-unanimous. Forever Young dominated the journalist ballot, proving that his global exploits resonated deeply at home:
• Total Votes: 248
• Votes for Forever Young: 226 (91.1% of the vote)
• Runners-up: Museum Mile (18 votes), Jantar Mantar (2 votes), Croix du Nord (1 vote), and Masquerade Ball (1 vote)
Why This is Historic
1. The Dirt Milestone: He is the first-ever dirt specialist to be named JRA Horse of the Year. For decades, this award has been the exclusive domain of turf legends like Deep Impact, Almond Eye, and Equinox
2. The 26-Year "Ghost" Campaign: He is the first horse since El Condor Pasa in 1999 to win the title without running a single race on the JRA circuit during the award year. While El Condor Pasa was conquering France, Forever Young was conquering the world
3. The Ultimate "Revenge" Season: After the heartbreak of the 2024 Kentucky Derby, he returned to the US in 2025 to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic, becoming the first Japanese horse to ever win the "World Championship" of dirt racing
The 2025 Campaign in Numbers
• Wins: Saudi Cup (G1), Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1), Nippon TV Hai (L)
• Earnings: He is now the highest-earning Japanese horse of all time, with career prize money exceeding 3 billion yen (surpassing the previous record-holder, Ushba Tesoro)
• The Dream Team: Huge credit goes to trainer Yoshito Yahagi, jockey Ryusei Sakai, and owner Susumu Fujita for their "global first" philosophy.
Forever Young didn’t just follow the path to greatness - he paved a brand-new one for every Japanese dirt horse that follows 🐎💨
Juddmonte have started naming their yearlings, the Dubawi colt out of Enable has been named "Entrust", and a Dubawi half sister to Enable has been named "Rounded", also a full sister to Lead Artist has been named "Contractual".

I'm glad they're considering running him on the flat. He's a strong galloper, and the staying ranks aren't deep at the moment. Really, it's the perfect time to give it a try.
