introducing Ascii: The pocket CTO
you send it voice memos on Telegram or instructions from your desktop
then Ascii handles it all:
> writes code and sends you demos, PDF reports and hosted builds when finished
> orchestrates many cloud coding agents working in parallel that can plan, code, test and use their desktop
> uses codex, claude code SDKs & subscriptions, no API keys required
> works on multiple repositories at once
> setups cron jobs and webhooks to schedule work when you sleep
> supports secrets, git hooks, full cloud machines config with sudo & 60fps desktop access
Welcome to a new era of software building
where coding agents aren't mere assistants anymore,
now they're as valuable and proactive as a world-class CTO, always at arm's reach, in your pocket
box is the least expensive sandbox but it doesn't mean it lacks advanced features
> new box
> connect to desktop
> login on whatever in chrome (linkedin for ex)
> fork the box
> fork is also logged in!
setup once, fork around
great for agent swarms doing knowledge work & QA
all we've shipped in box๐ฆin 1 week after launch
to make it the best AI sandbox ever:
> TS & Py SDKs
> OpenAPI & API keys
> way shorter cold starts
> new useful docs pages
> VNC fallback to 60fps desktop stream
> CLI ergonomy revamp
now time for you to ship with box
holy lobster
opened stripe this morning
saw that peter, the creator of openclaw, played a bit with our sandbox product for agents: box ๐ฆ
that's huge
should I ask for his precious feedback by DM or email? afraid the goat is spammed too much to see
Slavicnessโฆ how such smart guys like levelsio can be sometimes so insulting and vision-limited. Feels like class for him is what an average white west EU or North American person appreciates
box is the most powerful sandbox tech for agents
why do we know that?
1. it comes with so many tools that take weeks to get right on other providers, as you can see on video:
an agent on a https://t.co/hS7RyaZfX6 sandbox ran a fullstack real-time chat app based on Docker and Django, no struggle, then QAed it across Android and Chrome with desktop use, made a PR with the fix to a bug it found, and recorded a video to prove it works.
all out of the box, no custom image or setup, just codex running on it + a repo + our pre-installed tools and skills
what other agentic products, or god forbid any sandbox product, offers such capabilities, either in theory or after a hefty enterprise contract and weeks of building on top?
2. because it's been slow cooked with care by a constrained team
we spent 8 months building cloud coding agents tech, and more recently the ultimate CTO/orchestrator agent @asciidotdev
that's how box is born, internally, from our own frustration with existing providers, trying to make infra that works for the most ambitious f* up usecases (QA, running ANY code project, hosting anything, scrapping...)
we spent hundreds of days fixing bugs, patching holes, stabilizing the infra, and adding capabilities few can replicate (maybe Devin or Cursor come close?)
as a team of 2 fresh grads, from Europe, paid minimum. up against huge senior big VP/CTO level teams in the US, paid millions
the added benefit of all this is that it's also the most affordable sandbox, we don't need huge margins to sustain ourselves
in the next few months, sandboxes will become a near-the-consumer commodity. We bet that other teams won't survive how much we'll cut the cost and complexity
already well funded teams come to us and ask "how can each user get a couple long running agents with stateful laptop-level powerful sandbox for 1$/month cost"
we're the only ones who can already give answers
my product box went viral, so I decided to change my haircut
box is the simplest and the most affordable sandbox for builders. we provide a full vps. it's got docker, vscode, desktop streaming, gh and many more stuff by default.
give it a try! build your own factory
i casually pointed out we were the first to get this idea and we got blocked???
opencode is this how you treat sandbox providers who could be integrating and distributing your tech for you?
good luck
1 min from sign-up to a working machine with Desktop, HTTPS, Docker, VSCode, Github CLI, Node, Bun.
agentic work becomes the more and more complex, long, and parallelized. these agents need this new compute. containers or worktrees are not enough, while a vps takes weeks to set up properly.
this is why box is useful.
There's also so many things that can be built on top of it. You can build your own agentic factory, making the machines chained and parallelized, which is totally possible with our CLI.
You can also host things with box, show them fast to your clients. This is a brush, and you make it a painting.
give it a try!
