Yesterday should have made one thing painfully clear: that negative CN hashtag will not bring Valko back. It takes Valko away from us.

Yes, much of the spam came from bots. But some people from our own community joined in too, and we need to be honest about that. If you knowingly support a campaign that gets Valko’s billboard removed and turns every appearance of him into another political conflict, you are not helping Valko. You are working against him. There is no nice way to spin that.

We lost the billboard. We lost visibility for Valko. What did Infold lose? Nothing. If anything, this gives them another reason to think: “Everywhere Valko appears, this conflict follows—so keeping him away is safer.”

And now some people are attacking @LettersforValko and claiming they chose to remove it(or sth like that). Without their work, the September billboards, Cologne, New York and many other projects would never have happened at all. Before attacking the people who gave Valko this visibility, think twice. You really don’t need a degree to understand who actually lost something yesterday.

Statement on the Early End of the Times Square Campaign

We regret to inform everyone that our Times Square support campaign, originally scheduled to run for seven consecutive days, will end early today.

Yesterday, several accounts continued to amplify the ongoing controversy, which subsequently began trending on social media and drew wider attention. In light of the unexpected escalation in public discussion, the media operator decided to end the screen placement early based on its commercial risk assessment.

As a result, our New York campaign will not be able to complete its originally scheduled seven-day run.

It would be untrue to say that we are not disappointed.

From confirming the Times Square No. 1 screen to finally seeing it go live, we spent a long time preparing for this campaign and had sincerely hoped to see it through to the end. It has already been seen by many people and reached the place we had always hoped it would reach. It is simply ending a little earlier than we expected.

We were so close to having Valko’s name stay lit in New York through the Mid-Autumn Festival.

We would also like to clarify that the early end of the display was not initiated by Koko Letter Bureau, nor does it represent any change in our position or in the message we have continued to stand behind. Relevant records of the placement and our communications with the media operator have been retained.

We are deeply sorry that this is how the campaign has to end.

We had hoped Valko could stay in New York just a little longer. Still, he was there. He was seen.

We are grateful to everyone who contributed their time, resources, and care to making the New York campaign possible.

We are also very sorry to those who had already made plans to visit, were on their way, or had specifically set aside time to see the screen in person. Thank you for making the effort, and we are truly sorry for the sudden change.

Should there be any further updates, we will share them accordingly.

Okay, I normally try to keep out of the #discourse, but I’m just gonna throw myself into the ring of fire on this one.

Y’all can we not play petty puritan police?

Pointing out the hypocrisy of antis regarding their obvious weaponization of & fake concerns for women’s safety is one thing.

But shit-talking Caleb’s card for having gunplay by saying it’s icky, dangerous, scary, ‘actually harmful’, etc. is not it. It’s the exact same rhetoric the CDGs used to justify their discomfort towards Valko’s balcony scene.

Being anti-censorship means advocating for all art, including concepts you don’t personally like, bc you think the creator has the right to create art without restriction. You can’t claim to advocate for Valko bc you’re anti-censorship while simultaneously condemning Caleb’s card for having gunplay.

It’s fiction. No one’s in danger. No one’s being harmed. MC’s clearly into it, considering she’s initiating nearly all of it. Based on Verdant Wetlands we know she’s into being threatened by Caleb like this, so there’s a precedent for it. Even if there weren’t, it wouldn’t matter. It’s a dark romance video game. We knew how to differentiate between fiction & reality when it came to Valko, which means we know how to do the same here for Caleb.

If you don’t like it, that’s totally fine. If it makes you uncomfortable, that’s okay. I’m not gonna tell you what kind of content you must enjoy or be okay with. If it freaks you out, that’s valid. It’s a more extreme kink, so it’s not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea. That’s totally chill.

What I’m not okay with is pro-Valko ppl repeating the exact same bs talking points as CDGs. If we can use our brains enough to know Valko wasn’t literally breaking into MC’s house to rape her, we can use our brains enough to know MC was never in danger of Caleb shooting her, accidentally or otherwise.

You can’t apply real life gun safety to a fictional fantasy that’s intentionally disregarding real life logic in order to serve & heighten the fantasy. It isn’t real, no one’s in danger, & no one’s being harmed.

I collect every spicy multi card for all the LI's. I get every hairstyle & every outfit for all multis. I R3 Caleb's card & try to rank Sylus's to get his alt outfit. I easily spend over $500 on multis to get the things I want.

So they're losing out on that, the money I would've spent ranking Caleb's solo card, the money I would've spent on Raf's myth to get his companion at least to R1, the money I would've spent on Sylus' NDZ rerun, the money I would have spent to R2 Zayne's GoA myth RR for his alt outfit, and the money I would have spent on Wander in Wonder to get all the outfits and all the cards.

Since the start of the boycott, Valko's cancellation has saved me thousands of dollars I would've given to PPG happily, and that's not even including the promises (which I've always purchased since starting the game), weekly top ups, aurum passes/gifts, and purchases on random in-game items (like MC's myth companion outfit for Raf or other accessories).

PPG are actually so stupid. Like genuinely. They can't even be greedy capitalists right.
