This demands greater media literacy, self-awareness, and personal responsibility.

We must read more broadly, intentionally, and critically, examining information and sources—especially those that reinforce our cognitive biases—rather than accepting them at face value.

Most importantly, we should uphold a meaningful standard in how we communicate with each other and in how we engage with the world around us.

Trying to claim that “Mary’s experience is the same as that of a modern Palestinian mother” is an anachronistic, contemporary political and symbolic reinterpretation of her life.

The central facts are these: Mary was a Jewish woman from Nazareth in Galilee who gave birth under Roman rule. Period.

Stop trying to obscure/erase her ethnicity and religion by collapsing two fundamentally different historical and geopolitical contexts into one.

Rama Duwaji, wife of NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, is co-hosting an expensive spiritual retreat in Corsica, honoring Jesus' mother Mary as a "Palestinian woman giving birth under occupation".

Tickets range from around $3,000 to $5,000 for a trip of prayer, lectures, and food, all to distort the well-documented truth that Jesus was Jewish.

For such an expensive propaganda trip, one can only hope they receive a decent gift bag.

This morning, my son was baptized.

His baptismal gown was made by my great-grandmother from her wedding dress more than 100 years ago. Generations of our family have been baptized in it — my grandmother, my father, all of their siblings, their children, and now my son.

We named him Thomas after my late uncle and Saint Thomas the Apostle, who is often remembered as “Doubting Thomas.” But St. Thomas wasn’t weak in faith; he was courageous enough to ask questions and seek understanding before he believed fully.

I hope mine grows to be just as inquisitive.

To my sweet Thomas: May you always ask thoughtful questions, seek wisdom with humility, and pursue truth with an open heart. 💛

It has been professionally dry cleaned over the years, but I think the biggest reason it has lasted so well is that it’s always been stored carefully in a cool, dry place (i.e. no attics or basements) and handled gently. It also helps that it’s made from high-quality natural fibers. 😊
