>King Baldwin IV of Jerusalem
>Contracts leprosy as a child
>Takes the throne at 13 to protect the Holy Land
>Saladin marches on Jerusalem with a massive, undefeated army
>Baldwin is 16, physically decaying, can only use one hand to hold a sword
>Rides out with a tiny fraction of the men, gets off his horse, and kneels in the sand in front of the True Cross to pray for victory
>His men are inspired beyond words
>Gets back on his horse, charges the lines, and absolutely obliterates Saladin's army at Montgisard
>Keeps the kingdom safe until his dying breath, commanding from a litter when he can no longer walk
>The ultimate Crusader King
This is the type of leader we need.
>DOOM franchise
>Plot revolves around arrogant corporate scientists thinking they can harvest energy from Hell
>It immediately backfires and demons invade
>The Doomslayer: a hyper-masculine warrior literally too angry to die
>No moral ambiguity, demons are purely evil and must be destroyed
>Instead of just defending humanity, you also invade Hell to hunt demons
>You spend the entire game killing demons
>Accidentally becomes loved by Christians who thinks it's really cool killing demons (it is)
Unfathomably based.

The modern audience doesn't want you to accept this.
But DOOM 1993 got everything right.
No cutscenes.
No hand holding.
No corporate slop.
Just brutal combat, genius levels and a metal soundtrack.
Woke trash disappears within days.
DOOM is still here.
