The rare American Woodcock is plump, soft and rhythmic, and has become New York City's newest avian star.
Bryant Park does birding tours, but the Woodcock needs no help attracting a crowd.
It's become so popular, the park actually sells baseball caps with the fan favorite stitched onto them.
"The bird brings New Yorkers together. We need so much more of that," said spectator Talisa Shevavesh.
Spectators are enjoying their new neighbor, who in true New York spirit, marched to the beat of his own drum.

Pervasive gambling is not good for society. It turns life into a casino, traps people in addiction & debt, surges domestic violence, and fosters manipulation.
Since we're on the subject, the average person has also become more weird socially while their life has become less weird overall. For example, you could talk to your grandfather and he'd mention how he left for 10 years to raise cattle, authored a book about math, and then fought in a war somewhere. And you could never tell just from talking to him. For youth today, traveling is the most exciting experience one can have.
