Wells-next-the-Sea, North Norfolk, photographed from 4,500 feet. Once one of England's most important medieval ports, Wells prospered through the wool, grain and malt trades. Its harbour, sheltered behind shifting saltmarshes and sandbanks, remains the heart of the town today, with fishing boats and visiting yachts.
