@NickKristof Big processors are effective operators, and that industry is better than one might fear. I was pleasantly surprised at what I saw on the kill floor (funny sentence), in terms of both pigs and people.

A short, sharp shock is merciful compared to this sad practice.

@bajadobe where I am the role of the wattle was split/unrolled cane (bamboo), the only houses left in that style were 2 where the gov paid a tiny bit to owners to preserve. Huge palm overhangs, smooth walls, cool inside. Owners passed away and kids rebuilt concrete

(Whereas posting about this on X is a very good use of time, as I'm sure we all agree 😅)
