Urgent call to the international community to take immediate action to stop Israel's violence and prevent pogroms by settler militias and the Israeli army across the West Bank.

In recent days, violence by settler militias, enabled and supported by the Israeli army, has escalated across the West Bank, including the torching and destruction of Palestinian property, and the forced expulsion of families and communities. These attacks have been met with silence and inaction from much of the international community, allowing the violence to continue and intensify.

Today's event in the village of Tell (Area B) when a settlers' "tour" in the village ended with the killing of at least 4 Palestinians and 1 settler and several people injured is leading to escalated violence in the area with settlers, ministers, and Knesset members calling for further revenge attacks which already started across the West Bank. Experience shows that these events can escalate quickly into mass pogroms when met with silence.

We call the international community to act now. Immediate pressure must be placed on Israel to stop further attacks, prevent pogroms and further killings, and ensure the protection of Palestinians, in accordance with Israel's obligations under international law.

These are the locations where Israeli forces killed 54 Palestinian children and teenagers in the West Bank in 2025. The geographic dispersal of cases throughout the West Bank makes it clear this these killings were not isolated exceptions, but a systemic matter.

As part of Israel’s onslaught on the Palestinians since October 2023, the killing of Palestinians in the West Bank, and especially children and teenagers, has risen to unprecedented levels. Since October 2023, Israel has killed 242 Palestinian children and teenagers in the West Bank. Fifteen of them were killed in the first half of 2026 alone, including seven-month-old baby Sam Abu al-Haikal.

This figure is higher than during any comparable period since the occupation began in 1967.

The extensive killing could not occur without the backing and support of Israeli policy makers and public officials.

In early 2025, Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened that if necessary, Israel would operate in the West Bank as it had in Gaza. In November 2023, Finance Minister and Minister in the Defense Ministry Bezalel Smotrich said there were "two million Nazis" in the West Bank. He later declared that "Funduq, Nablus, and Jenin should look like Jabalya."

Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, head of the Israeli military's Central Command, recently boasted that the military is killing Palestinians in the West Bank "like we haven't killed since 1967." This past March, after Border Police undercover forces killed four members of the same family – a father, mother, and their two children – in the village of Tammun, MK Yitzhak Kroizer declared from the Knesset podium: "There are no innocent civilians in Jenin. There are no innocent children in Jenin." He added: "I support IDF soldiers in every situation, even if the collateral damage is children or women."

The reality of killing in the West Bank cannot be separated from the killing of more than 21,000 Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip since October 2023. Under Israel's apartheid regime, Palestinians remaincompletely defenseless in the face of lethal violence.

At long last, the world is paying attention to the alarming, horrific rise in Israeli settler violence against defenceless Palestinian children, women, and men across the West Bank.

Countless families have been brutally forced out of their homes.

A new report from the West Bank Protection Consortium (WBPC), led by NRC, documents the endless suffering of families forced to flee.

Based on interviews with 233 displaced households, the report highlights the dramatic increase in enforced displacement since October 2023. Families lose access to their own land and grazing areas that sustained their livelihoods. They end up in substandard and unsafe shelters, and continue to face threats of further displacement.

The report documents that:

🔴95% of families say settler violence is what forces them to leave their homes and communities
🔴86% say their living conditions are worse than before displacement
🔴84% have lost access to the land and resources they previously depended on
🔴Nearly half fear they could be displaced again within the next six months
🔴Only 6% believe they will be able to return home within the next year

The settler violence, insecurity, loss of land access and the expansion of settlements that forced families to flee now prevents them from returning.

This is a protection crisis with long-term consequences for families, communities, and for any future prospects for peace.

These findings should alarm governments that have invested millions of Euros in humanitarian assistance and community resilience in the West Bank. Schools, shelters, water systems, livestock support, and other donor-funded projects have repeatedly been damaged, confiscated, demolished or abandoned as communities are displaced.

This situation will not be improved by the issuing of yet more international “expressions of concern.”

States must use all available diplomatic, political, legal and economic measures to help prevent further forcible transfer, ensure accountability for violence against civilians, protect humanitarian and donor-funded infrastructure, and uphold international law, including ending the occupation.

Most importantly, Palestinian families should be able to live safely on their land, free from violence, coercion and the threat of displacement.

🚨 NEW: UN report details rape, gang rape and genital violence against Palestinian detainees by Israeli forces

The UN Secretary-General’s report submitted to the Security Council verifies 31 victims of sexual violence linked to Israeli forces in 2025 — against 14 men, seven women, nine children and one girl — across detention facilities in Gaza and the West Bank, according to Haaretz, which said it had reviewed the report.

Key Details:

🔸“Violations consisted of rape, including with objects, gang rape, attempted rape, physical violence to the genitals, instances of targeted shooting of the genitals, touching of breasts and genitals, strip and cavity searches conducted without apparent security justification, forced nudity and threats of rape,” the report said.

🔸 9 victims, most of them Gaza residents, were subjected to rape and gang rape — in some cases repeatedly. Men and boys were allegedly subjected to rape or attempted rape and violence to the genitals, “resulting in five male victims suffering severe rectal bleeding or swelling for multiple days or weeks and, in some cases, without receiving medical treatment.”

🔸 The report named the IDF, Israeli Prison Service and Border Police Counter Terrorism Unit as responsible. Facilities cited include Sde Teiman, Etzion, and prisons Megiddo, Ofer, Ramla, HaSharon, Shatta, Nafha and Damon.

🔸 The UN said its findings likely reflect only part of a broader pattern, citing Israel’s continued denial of access to detention facilities and explicit threats against detainees to coerce them not to report abuse.
