🚨 Hull City don't care how much of the ball you have, and now there's three matches of proof, not two. They've beaten Manchester United, beaten Coventry, and drawn Aston Villa, all with under a third of the possession each time. Still yet to concede a single goal.
Against Manchester United: 28% possession, just 8 shots to United's 21, and still won 2-0. Against Coventry: 31% possession, 6 shots, and still won 1-0. Against Aston Villa: 26% possession, but 4 shots on target to Villa's 1, the more clinical side despite having far less of the ball.
Three matches. Zero goals conceded. A different opponent, a different possession share every time, and the exact same result, Hull don't get broken down.
Three games in, it's still early days. But the signs are pointing toward a genuinely disciplined, well-organized team. On this evidence, it's not unreasonable to say Hull look like a side that stays up this season.
🚨 Tottenham Hotspur fans, genuinely, when you look at the money spent this summer and then look at these numbers, is the season already in trouble? 59% possession, 87% pass accuracy, and zero goals in three matches. One draw, two losses. Spend and results are not lining up.
Add it up: 38 shots, only 10 on target, a 26% shot accuracy. 23 of those shots came from inside the box, 22 corners won, real chances, genuinely good positions, just not converted.
Today against Nottingham Forest specifically, Spurs had 12 shots and zero on target. ZERO. In a game they had 59% of the ball in.
This is exactly why possession numbers on their own tell you nothing. Spurs have had the ball more than their opponents in every single one of these games. They've also failed to score in every single one. Holding the ball isn't the same as doing anything dangerous with it, and right now Tottenham are proving that the hard way.
87% pass accuracy means you're good at passing sideways and backwards without losing it. It says nothing about whether you can actually break a defence down.
On these numbers, Tottenham don't look prepared to compete in the same bracket as Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, or even Manchester United right now.
🚨This was one match I was genuinely confident of a win for Cesc Fabregas's side. Como travelled to Genoa and delivered exactly what the numbers pointed to before kickoff, a dominant away performance that turned a expected win into something far more emphatic.
Called Como to win, 1-2. They won 1-4.
Deep433's model had backed Como 78-22 on attack before kickoff, and the AI verdict called it 0-3. The final margin went even further than that, 20 shots to 11, 9 on target to just 2, 62% possession, Como were the better side everywhere on the pitch.
Genoa actually broke their scoreless streak here, but conceding four meant it barely mattered.
🚨 Newcastle 2-2 Bournemouth. One of this week's top 10 picks landed exactly on the number, and the underlying stats show exactly why this one was always going to be tight rather than a routine home win.
Bournemouth actually dominated the shot count, 17 to Newcastle's 8, and had more of the ball, 57%. But only 5 of those shots hit the target, to Newcastle's 2. High shot volume, low precision, exactly the kind of game that ends level.
Both sides worked hard defensively too, 19 fouls for Newcastle, 17 for Bournemouth, a genuinely physical contest throughout.
👤 My call: 2-2. Landed.
Predict smartly. Look closely at the stats.
🚨 Deep433 AI has crunched Newcastle vs Bournemouth, and the head-to-head tells a different story than current form. Newcastle sit 6th in form, but Bournemouth have actually won twice in the last five meetings between these two sides. Newcastle have won none.
Newcastle look the better side right now, 6th, +2 goal difference, 4 scored and 2 conceded across two games. Bournemouth are down at 14th, -1 goal difference, but not far off, 2 scored, 3 conceded.
Deep433's model backs Newcastle clearly, 67-33 on attack, 60-40 on defence. But the head-to-head is the real wrinkle here, three draws and two Bournemouth wins in the last five, Newcastle haven't beaten them once in that stretch.
🤖 Deep433 AI: no scoreline given on this one.
👤 I say: 2-2
Given how this fixture has actually played out historically, a draw feels like the honest call, even with the model favouring Newcastle on the underlying numbers.
Predict smartly. Look closely at the stats.

🚨 Deep433 AI has crunched Preston vs Blackburn, and every signal points the same direction. Preston are bottom of the Championship, 0 points from 4 games, all defeats. Blackburn have won all 3 of the last head to head meetings between these two sides.
Preston's numbers are genuinely bleak. 3 scored, 9 conceded across 4 games, -6 goal difference, and 4 straight losses in their own recent form too. Blackburn are far from flying, 5 points from 4 games, level goal difference, but next to Preston's collapse, they look stable.
Deep433's model backs Blackburn clearly, 62-38 on attack, 64-36 on defence. The head-to-head agrees, 3 wins to 0 for Blackburn in the last 5, with 2 draws.
🤖 Deep433 AI says: 1-2
👤 I say: 1-3
Both the human observer and AI have Blackburn winning. Given how one-sided this is across current form, history, and the model, I think the margin goes further than a narrow one.
Predict smartly. Look closely at the stats.

🚨 Deep433 AI has crunched VfB Stuttgart vs 1. FC Köln, and history says one thing while this season says another entirely. Stuttgart have won 4 of the last 5 meetings. But right now they sit bottom of the table, and just lost their opener 5-1 to Bayern Munich, the reigning champions.
Worth keeping in mind before writing Stuttgart off, that result came against the best team in the league, not an ordinary opponent. Still, 18th place, 0 points, -4 goal difference is what's actually on the board. Köln, by contrast, opened with a 3-2 win, sitting 7th with a +1 goal difference.
Deep433's model has flipped almost entirely away from the head-to-head trend, backing Köln 74-26 on attack, 71-29 on defence. The key tactical battle: Köln's attack rated 75% against Stuttgart's defence at just 29%, and Stuttgart's injury list runs six players deep.
🤖 Deep433 AI says: 0-2
👤 I say: 1-2
Both the human observer and AI have Köln winning. History leans hard the other way, but everything happening right now, form, injuries, the model, points in one direction. Sometimes the head-to-head record just isn't the most useful number on the card.
Predict smartly. Look closely at the stats.

🚨 Deep433 AI has crunched Genoa vs Como. Como were the surprise package of Serie A last season under Cesc Fabregas, and this fixture looks like more of the same story continuing. Genoa, meanwhile, have not scored a single goal in their last two matches.
Genoa are bottom of this pairing, 16th, 0 points, 0 goals scored in two games, -3 goal difference. Como sit 8th, +1, a win and a draw to open the campaign, scoring 3 and conceding 2.
Deep433's model backs Como clearly, 78-22 on attack, 60-40 on defence. The head-to-head agrees, Como have won 2 of the last 5 meetings, Genoa none, with 3 draws.
🤖 Deep433 AI says: 0-3
👤 I say: 1-2
Como weren't in my original top 10 picks this week, but I'm backing them here. Fabregas has already shown what this team can do, and Genoa just aren't scoring right now, which makes this a genuinely tough game for them to turn around.
Predict smartly. Look closely at the stats.
#Genoa #Como #SerieA
🚨 Deep433 AI has crunched Real Betis vs Real Madrid, and the gap is stark. Attacking strength splits 71-29 in Real Madrid's favour. Defence reads the same, 71-29. Madrid are averaging 3.3 scored a game this season. Betis are conceding 1.7 a game.
Madrid's season so far is close to perfect, 3 wins from 3, +8 goal difference, 10 scored and just 2 conceded. Betis have started well too, 2 wins from 3, but the gap in output between these two sides right now is real, not just reputation.
The head-to-head leans Madrid's way but isn't one-sided. Across the last five meetings, Madrid have won twice, Betis once, with two draws. Betis have shown they can win this fixture, just not often.
Recent individual form tells the same story. Madrid have won their last 3 matches. Betis have won 2 of their last 3, with a loss mixed in.
🤖 Deep433 AI says: 0-2
👤 I say: 1-3
Both the human observer and AI have Madrid winning comfortably. Where we differ is the margin, AI reads it as a controlled defensive performance, I think Madrid's attack finds one more than that.
Predict smartly. Look closely at the stats.
#RealMadrid #LaLiga
🚨 Deep433 AI has crunched Lyon vs Auxerre, and one number stands out above everything else. Auxerre are conceding 4.0 goals a game this season, the leakiest defence in the entire data set so far. Lyon are shipping just 0.5 a game in comparison.
Lyon sit 4th, +2 goal difference, unbeaten in two, 1 win and 1 draw. Auxerre are bottom, 18th, 0 points, 0 wins, and that -5 goal difference comes almost entirely from defence, they've actually scored 3 in two games, a respectable 1.5 a game, but conceded 8.
This isn't really a contest between two similar sides having different luck. Auxerre's attack looks fine. Their defence looks broken.
Deep433's model actually rates attacking strength dead even, 50-50. But defensively it's one-sided, 78-22 in Lyon's favour, matching exactly what the raw numbers already show.
The head-to-head backs it up too. Across the last five meetings, Lyon have won twice, Auxerre once, with two draws.
🤖 Deep433 AI says: 2-0
👤 I say: 3-0
Both the human observer and AI back Lyon to win comfortably. I think it opens up further than a clean two, given how badly Auxerre have been leaking goals.
Predict smartly. Look closely at the stats.
#Lyon #Ligue1
🚨 Deep433 AI has crunched Real Sociedad vs Celta Vigo, two sides both stuck near the relegation zone. Attacking strength splits heavily, 74 to 26 in Real Sociedad's favour. But on defence, the model actually flips the other way, backing Celta Vigo instead, 60 to 40.
Neither side is in good shape this new season. Real Sociedad sit 13th, 3 points, one win in three, conceding at 2.0 a game. Celta Vigo are worse off, 17th, just 1 point, one goal scored in three matches, a 0.3 average.
The head-to-head is dead even across the last five, 2 wins apiece, 1 draw. And the last time Celta Vigo visited, the story was one of resilience over control. Real Sociedad won 3-1 despite being outplayed on almost every underlying number, 64% possession to Celta, 17 shots to 10, more corners, more passes, and Real Sociedad still had a man sent off during the match. They won anyway.
🤖 Deep433 AI says: 2-1
👤 I say: 2-2
Both the human observer and AI back Real Sociedad's attack to show up. Where we split is the finish, AI backs a narrow win, I think Celta find a way to level it given how close this fixture has run historically.
Predict smartly. Look closely at the stats.

🚨 One of these massive sales banks close to 100% pure accounting profit. The other keeps barely half the headline fee. Same transfer window, wildly different accounting reality.
Here is how player amortisation splits these two huge transfers:
Enzo Fernández, Chelsea to Man City, £125m, confirmed. He originally joined Chelsea in 2023 for a reported fee in the region of £106.8m, on a long-term deal reported at around 8.5 years, deliberately structured to spread the cost thin under FFP.
If those reported figures are accurate, roughly £46m would already be written off almost four years into that deal, leaving somewhere in the region of £60m still on the books.
On that basis, the real accounting profit likely sits closer to £65m, roughly 52% of the £125m fee, just over half, not the full amount, and not just the £18m gap between the two transfer fees either.
Gabriel Martinelli, Arsenal to Al Hilal, £55.7m, a club-record sale, confirmed. He joined Arsenal in 2019 for a reported fee in the region of £6m from Brazilian side Ituano, and had just one year left on his contract at the time of this sale, confirmed. With that little time remaining, there's essentially nothing left of the original fee still sitting on the books to write off. On that basis, this sale looks close to 100% pure profit, nearly the entire £55.7m banked clean.
Same mechanic, opposite outcomes, based on the reported figures. One sale converts roughly half its fee into real profit. The other converts almost all of it.
The only difference is how much of the original signing fee was left to write down, and that comes down entirely to when a player was bought and how long his contract runs.
Two "major sales." Two very different percentages behind them, once you actually look at how the accounting works.

🚨 Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man City already look like locks for the top four this season. Manchester United and Liverpool are a different story entirely, two games in, and neither has shown enough yet to convince anyone they belong in that conversation.
📊 Liverpool: two draws, zero wins, 2-2 both times. Four scored, four conceded, an even split that suggests a team still finding its identity rather than one imposing itself. Zero losses is fine. Zero wins after two games isn't the form of a genuine contender.
📊 Man United: one win, one loss, 10th place. 5 goals scored, 4 conceded. A 2.5 average scored is genuinely sharp going forward, but shipping goals at 2.0 a game against sides they should be beating suggests the same defensive fragility that's followed them for a while.
Neither side looks broken. Neither looks convincing either 🤔
It's early days, two games is not a verdict. But if these patterns hold, where do United and Liverpool actually finish this season? Top four still realistic, or a genuine fight for the top six?
#Liverpool #ManUtd #PremierLeague
🚨 Three promoted sides, two games into their Premier League return, and already telling three completely different stories. One clean sheet machine, one misunderstood scoreline, and one team with a genuine warning sign nobody's talking about yet.
⚽ Hull City are the surprise package. Zero goals conceded in two matches, a genuinely elite defensive start for any newly-promoted side. They only got their shot at the playoffs because of the Southampton spygate scandal, then beat Middlesbrough to go up. Two games into the Premier League, they look like a team that's found its identity fast, don't concede, nick a goal, bank the points.
🎯 Ipswich Town look shakier on paper than they might actually be. GD -2 sounds alarming, but that's almost entirely one result, a 5-2 battering by Man United, one of the hardest fixtures in the league. Strip that out and the real story is they've scored 4 goals in just 2 games, including a win over Sunderland, a side at their own level. This isn't a team short of attacking ideas, it's a team that ran into a buzzsaw once.
🛡️ Coventry City are the one to watch. Losing to the reigning champions tells you nothing, everyone's expected that. What's more concerning: zero goals scored across two matches, including a loss to fellow newly-promoted Hull, their actual peer level right now.
⏳ Early days, just two games each. A single result can flip this whole picture. But if one of these three goes down, the early signal points to Coventry first, not the table position, the lack of output against a direct rival.
Who do you think survives, and who's already showing the cracks?
#Hull #Coventry
🚨 Two teams. Six points each. One of them is a lot closer to trouble than the table shows.
Chelsea and Manchester City sit level on 6 points after two games. Same win record, same start.
The underlying numbers tell a different story:
⚽ Chelsea are actually scoring more, 7 goals to City's 6, 3.5 per game to City's 3.0. On paper, the sharper attack belongs to Chelsea.
🛡️ But look at the other side of the ball.
Chelsea have conceded 5 in two matches, 2.5 per game. City have conceded just 2, 1.0 per game. Neither side has kept a clean sheet yet, but City are leaking goals at less than half Chelsea's rate.
Same points, very different margin for error 📊
Chelsea fans, genuine question: is this a real title contender, or a leaky defense waiting to get exposed? 🤔
Two wins each. One team is winning comfortably. The other appears to be scrapping through.
#Chelsea #ManCity #PremierLeague
🚨 Hull City don't care how much of the ball you have.
Coventry had 69% possession against them. Man United had 72%. Both lost.
Against Coventry: 1.3 xG for the hosts, 0.7 for Hull, and Hull still won 1-0. Against United: 1.8 xG for United, 1.0 for Hull, same story, Hull won 2-0.
Neither time did Hull dominate the ball. Both times they dominated the moments that mattered. 15 tackles against Coventry, 17 against United, a low block that isn't sitting back out of fear, it's a system that's working.
Possession is a stat. Results are a habit. Hull are building the second one.
🚨 Liverpool dominate one side of the ball. The other side tells a very different story.
Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest, Premier League ⚽
Deep433's model rates Liverpool's attack at 78% to Forest's 22%, a huge gap. But defensively, it flips, Forest rate higher than Liverpool themselves, 67% to 33%.
🤖 AI verdict: 2-1
👤 My call: 3-1
The head-to-head backs up the tension too, dead even across the last five, 2 wins each and a draw. Not the runaway story the attack numbers alone suggest.
