A useful spatial dataset isn’t just about collecting more captures.

Because a reconstruction can’t recover geometry that was never captured.

A missing viewpoint can leave gaps in the final point cloud or Gaussian splat. That’s very different from ordinary video, where one good angle can be enough.

But complete geometry is only the first layer.

Once the physical space is reconstructed, machines still need to understand what the objects and areas represent. A single location might be described as a loading zone, staging area, or temporary parking depending on the system.

Combining detailed spatial reconstruction with semantic IDs, confidence, ontology versions, and flexible embeddings could let different systems share the same physical world model without requiring identical vocabularies.
