NFTs started as pictures.
Then they became identity.
A PFP was not just an image. It was a signal: who you are, what community you belong to, what internet tribe you chose.
That era was powerful.
But it had a limit.
Most NFT characters could not do anything.
They could represent you, but they could not respond. They could build culture, but they could not
participate in it.
They could live in your wallet, but not really live with you.
That is why projects like @0xploplo feel interesting inside the Ritual ecosystem.
The next era of crypto characters probably will not be static.
They may become companions, mascots, agents, community interfaces, small personalities that move across apps, stories, products, and maybe even physical forms.
That changes what a character means.
It is no longer only something you own.
It becomes something you interact with.
Something that can carry memory, context, and behavior.
That is where Ritual matters.
Living characters need more than art.
They need infrastructure: a place for agents to run, a way to use context, a way to handle private data, and a way to act while leaving traces.
PLOPLO is cute on the surface.
But the deeper idea is serious:
crypto culture is moving from static identity to living identity.
And Ritual is one of the places where that shift can actually make sense.
