@uhh_luc loooooooool yeah I remember using this and checking on what my friends were liking. it always struck me as a really weird feature, never understood why they even had this
@skramouttahere@phyIIomedusa no yeah there is for sure. it can go both ways i think: the cultural movement that includes the myriad of bands (emo/adjacent), the fans and the aesthetic/fashion; and the general but distinct poppish emo sound shared through common traits and similar influences
@phyIIomedusa and some other alt emo and non emo bands too; i see it predominantly as a cultural movement or fad (that would in part later grow more broadly into scene). if i were to narrow it down sonically i'd probably just describe it as alternative pop emo from the early/mid 2000s
@phyIIomedusa the way i think of it mall emo is a catch all term for emo bands from the 3rd wave (think 2000/2001 to maybe 2006/7?) that adhered to a more commercially viable sound or showed some mainstream success, so like emo pop, mall screamo and maybe other emo-adjacent bands
After a spokesman's for the Department of Homeland Security suggested Hayley Williams "thank them (ICE) for their service" in response to her recent on stage comments, Hayley responded via Instagram:
"And may i suggest all nazi bitches suck on my fat dick"
@denpanopticon love how the first panel guides the eye directly to the last panel , basically nullifying the other two, which already signified virtually nothing to begin with
