This report reveals what we already know: Australia's immigration detention regime is not a safe place - for children or for adults.
We continue to advocate for improving healthcare in immigration detention and an end to cruel mandatory detention.

It was so brilliant to speak at the Griffith (my hometown!) #IWD breakfast yesterday with my sister @HilaryGeddes- we spoke about the power of #publiceducation & how growing up in an amazing regional community provided us with immeasurable support & courage to pursue our dreams!
PIAC's @lucygeddes was up early today to tell @2ser about her new co-authored book, why we need a collection of Australian #humanrights cases and what will come next in human rights caselaw.

Very excited to return to my home town of Griffith to speak at tomorrow’s #IWD breakfast with my superstar sister @HilaryGeddes!! What a thrill! We were both country kids with big dreams and so it’s a real honour to be invited back to share our stories
Looking forward to chatting to @dearindira with @hamish_mcl tonight about our book on @abcsydney! We’re going to be talking about our favourite Australian human rights cases & whether Australia needs a federal bill of rights (surprise surprise, yes we do). Tune in at 9pm!

Medical professionals have written an open letter to Australian Parliament calling for the immediate evacuation of those detained in Nauru & PNG. Experts agree that offshore & onshore #immigrationdetention causes harm: we need to end mandatory detention https://t.co/WqDblVQgDQ
A big turn out for tonight’s Sydney launch of ‘50 Human Rights Cases That Changed Australia’, by @lucygeddes and @hamish_mcl, with a panel including @GetUp’s @Riss_Bundjalung and Emeritus Professor Andrea Durbach.
Fantastic launch last night of the new book '50 Human Rights Cases that Changed Australia' @lucygeddes and @hamish_mcl. So proud to have published this one.
1/3 UN inspectors to prevent torture have officially terminated an Australian visit for lack of cooperation. Rwanda is the only other country to refuse to allow these inspectors to do their job.
It's shameful that we refuse oversight of human rights in places of detention.
