Adolescence comes with emotions and anger related to their parent’s incarceration. Make sure that the adolescent has the space and trusted individuals to have these conversations with. Support adolescents who want to explore and learn more about issues related to incarceration.

As Wells of Hope, We make sure children visit their parents in prison with the help of Uganda Prison Service. This helps them experience a parent-and-child relationship even for a shorter time. A big thanks to Uganda Prison Service and our partners.

Among the highlights was when 4 of the children met their sponsors! They were overjoyed.

The visitors toured the schools as well and the ongoing projects.

During the visit, the children received donations from the visitors.

Today we were elated as friends led by Antonette Sotelo from Shepherd Church USA interacted with the children at Wells of Hope Junior and Hope High Schools. The visitors and children mingled in traditional dance presentations from Central and Eastern Uganda.

At every age, it is important for children to be able to see and have contact with their parents. When parents are incarcerated, it can be challenging to overcome the many barriers.The role of caregivers in helping to keep these connections is important through bonding with them.

It's our role to support them to become responsible citizens who will change the stories of their communities.
