"Black Hole Sun" is from Soundgarden's 1994 album Superunknown. Written by Chris Cornell in about 15 minutes after mishearing a phrase on a TV news report, it peaked at #1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and #2 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, becoming the band's signature song.

The surreal music video, directed by Howard Greenhalgh, won the 1995 MTV Video Music Award for Best Metal/Hard Rock Video and earned a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. Its distorted suburban imagery and unsettling visuals helped make it one of the most iconicvideos of the 90s.

"Hunger Strike" is from Temple of the Dog's 1991 self-titled album. The song became a grunge anthem, reaching #4 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks and #7 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart. Formed by members of Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone, and the future Pearl Jam, the supergroup recorded the album as a tribute to late singer Andrew Wood.

The song features a powerful duet between Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder and helped introduce Vedder to a wider audience just before Pearl Jam released Ten.
