For those who're interested in this kind of stuff ๐
You're so weird darling
60Hz on a phone would be so annoying to me - it already is on my iPad mini
But on my MacBook, tho maybe that's due to Tahoe, I'm even fine with 60. Tho I don't game on that thing
And on my Desktop I have 180 but my second screen is 100 and totally fine for non-gaming stuff for me there
@al3xis5_@clanceeinfinity It sure is but even there the difference is not nearly as drastic as 60 vs 120 for example
I had 240Hz for several years and "downgraded" from 1080p240 to 1440p180 last year and tbh there is essentially no real difference. And Km certainly not blind to this stuff
@SasaMarinkovic@AMD Oh yeah because we know AI shit like ChatGPT always gets stuff right so accurately ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
It was Apple who did the first 128GB SoC. Not AMD. And you guys also didn't built the market around local AI shit
I think no one did, I just made up some example. It's always the same that Apples claims get "tested" way more aggressively than anyone else.
Best seen with the iPhone Air and Jacks braindead durability test. Every other phone just gets bent. The Air gets destroyed with fucking forklift and shit only so he can put the destroyed iPhone in the thumbnail...
Apple's foldable iPhone may not come cheap ๐
A new leak suggests Apple has finalized a Liquidmetal hinge for the iPhone Ultra.
The technology is reportedly difficult to mass produce, which could mean:
โข Limited early availability
โข Higher manufacturing costs
โข Premium pricing
The thing with Apple is that they also - way more than anyone else - has to keep the "idiots" in mind. No other brand is getting tested harder for their claims than Apple.
Samsung, Huawei, Oppo whatever claim they have unscratchable glass? Cool, nice.
Apple claims that? Oh boy. Pull the guns out and fill up the flamethrower darling, we're gonna "test" that
Of course you had to mention Huawei~ :p
But I'd say that Apple even spends way more money than Huawei there. I mean Apple pays more for production than any major Android manufacturer COMBINED just because they always want the best quality and go the extra mile to achieve what they want
And yes I agree. There surely have to be compromises made but I still at least can imagine Apple doing a way better job than... plastic.
It sounds a bit of giving Apple too much credit it I'd really say if someone can do pull something off there, it is Apple. Simply because they can throw an ridiculous amount of money into R&D (way more than most others) and essentially give a crap about it having to be profitable right away.
And they take their time with this stuff
That's why Apple products always feel and look so premium to begin with. They throw a ton of money at stuff that is such a tiny detail that most people don't notice it but as a whole package it makes a difference. They don't cheap out on that stuff
I have no idea
But Apple has done several times that they came up with stuff that in retrospect feels so stupidly natural to do but somehow no one did it before. So I have some expectations that they might pull something off by using like a special version of the Ceramic Shield or whatever idk
And I just figured out that - just like with Liquid Glass - the Apple keyboard automatically put caps on Ceramic Shield
Probably
I mean I expected them to do one once the market actually solidified. It wasn't just a short trend and instantly died again.
And tbh I'm still curious about it because Apple very much does still care about their hardware and delivers excellent stuff there. I also can't imagine them just doing some cheap plastic screen and calling it a day. That's not Apple
I hate the form factor but I still want to see Apples approach on the hardware/material level
@pururajdutta Don't see a real use for that tbh
Showing the iPhone battery on the Mac can have some benefits especially when you use it as a hotspot and such
