INFLUENCERS / UGANDA
WODE MAYA -@wode_maya
I don’t know how many of you guys are following the number of influencers coming to Uganda?
Many of them are posting about their experiences after they have left Uganda and they seem to follow similar itineraries.
One thing I have learnt is that big influencers follow other big influencers too which is a great stuff.
After @wode_maya showcased Uganda, many west African influencers started coming in either quietly or others loud. We must give @wode_maya his flowers.
Studies show that 75% of tourism travel around the global is now influenced by social media and the influencers are so critical now.
Our local influencers have joined the game for domestic push which is very critical for local travels.
People around the globe are seeing destinations in a different way because of influencers and how creative they have become.
Even @RwenzoriMarathn is growing because we fly in influencers every year and the more we do the more international runners pick interest though we must also do a good job.
The biggest obstacles was how we were handling information especially by ministry of HEALTH and DEFENSE MINISTRY.
Remember the fight? Wasn’t in vain and my expectations are that tourism will bring in more money to the treasury than before. The bookings look good.
We aren’t scaring away potential tourists from other countries especially in the last 8 months and inquiries have increased .
Of course the majority of the money isn’t directly associated with tourism activities, for example when fuel is consumed by tourists, may not reflect on tourism.
The above plus the fact that UGANDA TOURISM BOARD is finding its path and MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS has woken up to work harder, things can only get better.
When shopping happens, restaurants make money, visa money, stopovers along tourism routes, food suppliers to tourism facilities etc, people don’t always see the association.
TOURISM SIMPLY INJECTS FOREX IN THE BLOOD STREAM OF AN ECONOMY!
So young people, don’t be distracted, look out for opportunities now that things are looking up. Be distracted 20% and be on the alert 80%.
If you aren’t on the look out, you will join those who think people go under water for opportunities. There is nothing under water maybe in the water, you will find fish.
This is to celebrate you for what you are giving in to put Uganda where am few of us dream it should be.
Thank you for the leadership.
More years full of food heath and ascendance.
Happy birthday. Amos

NOTHING BEATS APPRECIATION.
This evening, I received a Dm from my mentor and some one I look up to in my way of life.
It was truly rewarding, very incomparable.
We have never met in person but I try to push his work online because I believe we auxiliary benefit from his endless efforts to push tourism.
I'm humbled sir.
The Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon, held annually in Kasese, Uganda, at the foothills of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains, stands out as far more than a sporting event. It serves as a powerful force for positive change in the region and beyond.
As Uganda's first......
When we set foot in Rubirizi, we had left Kampala without any formal appointments only sharing the news of our trip on Twitter.
By morning, things had already changed. Different messages had come in, and suddenly we had several appointments lined up with some of the most passionate and popular tourism enthusiasts in the area.
From there, we began the journey together moving through different sites, documenting what we could, and exchanging ideas on how best to showcase the beauty and potential of Rubirizi as a tourism destination.
