they're called system one models, and the name comes straight from how your own brain works

your brain runs two modes:

- system 2: slow, deliberate thinking, like doing long division on paper
- system 1: instant gut decisions, like catching a ball or reading a face

every AI model you've ever used is system 2 only

ask it a simple yes or no and it still thinks out loud, word by word, burning seconds and money

so half of what a brain does... but now we have Jev

instead of writing text, it takes messy information in and spits out a direct decision, in a strict format software can use instantly

the training method is the game changer here

normal models get rewarded for answers humans like, so they learn to sound confident even when they're wrong... that's literally where hallucinations come from

so Jev gets rewarded for honest confidence instead

when it says it's 90% sure, it's right about 90% of the time, and because it only answers in that strict format, it can't ramble or make things up

and this is why it's so interesting: the bulk of AI work inside real products is tiny decisions... is this spam, does this refund qualify, which folder does this go in

right now companies point big slow chat models at those questions

a system 1 model answers in under half a second, at a fraction of the cost, and tells you exactly how much to trust it

thanks to this new tech, AI stops being a chatbot you wait on and becomes a reflex built into EVERY piece of software

and if AGI is supposed to work like a real brain, it needs both modes... until today we only had one

Hoy, un chaval de unos 28-30 años, me dice que los de mi generación somos los grandes culpables de las deficiencias, de la crisis y de las pocas oportunidades que hay hoy en dia...

Le dije, mira chaval, los de mi generación somos los que:
- Ibamos con pantalones rotos y parcheados y tenis con agujeros por donde salia el dedo.
- Heredábamos los libros y ropa de hermanos a hermanos.
- Salíamos a jugar a la calle y llegábamos a casa, comios de mierda, con sangre en las rodillas y con una sonrisa en la cara.
- Merendábamos un chusco de pan duro con un trozo de chocolate (sucedaneo, porque el chocolate Nestlé era para pudientes)
- Los fines de semana, nos montábamos toda la familia en un Renault 8 y salíamos con una tortilla de patatas, arenques secos, habas, rábanos, Mirindas para los niños y con cervezas "El Alcázar" para los mayores y nos íbamos a cualquier rambla o secarral a pasar el domingo.
- En verano a la playa, con la botella de litro de "La Casera", bota de vino, sandia en la orilla enterrada y una sábana como toldo para que la abuela no se tostara.
- Los viernes por la noche, era noche del "1,2,3 " y de Don Cicuta y Kiko Legard (por supuesto, en una Telefunken en blanco y negro).
- Tu padre se iba a las 7 de la mañana y muchos dias no lo veias porque tú te acostabas para ir al colegio y él todavia no habia regresado del trabajo.
- Tu madre, aparte de zurcir o limpiar escaleras o cocinar en un colegio, también hacia las cosas de casa y todavía tenía tiempo para cantar, mientras colgaba la ropa en la cuerda...
- Cuando tenias 14-15 años, tenias tu primera novia y te pegabas toda la tarde al lado del telefono góndola, por si te llamaba.
- Si querías una moto, te pegabas dos veranos currando todo el dia de camarero o de aprendiz, para poder comprártela al cumplir los 16.
- Y por supuesto, el que no quería estudiar, a currar y a aprender un oficio...Que había que levantar pronto el vuelo y salir de casa a los 18 o 20 años, para poder formar una familia.

Asi que, chaval...No me vengas con que las cosas ahora son peores o más dificiles, que a los de mi generación, nadie nos ha regalado nada y podíamos vivir perfectamente sin tantas gilipolleces como hay hoy en dia y que te hace ser esclavo de tus deseos inservibles.
