Iranian Army: US attacks will not reopen Hormuz; all 17 US bases in the region have been destroyed

Iranian Army spokesman Brig. Gen. Mohammad Akraminia said control over the Strait of Hormuz has become a national demand, stressing that Iran's armed forces will not retreat from the rights of the Iranian people.

He said the strait will remain closed until the US accepts Iran's legal order and an Iranian framework governing Hormuz, adding that US attacks and aggression cannot force its reopening.

According to Akraminia, the only path to reopening the strait is for Washington to comply with the memorandum signed during the Islamabad meeting, cease its attacks, and accept Iranian regulations over Hormuz.

Akraminia also warned neighboring countries that while Iran has never sought war with its neighbors, allowing US forces to use regional bases to launch attacks on Iranian territory is unacceptable and will not go unanswered.

He further stated that during the Third Imposed War, Iranian forces destroyed and severely damaged all 17 US bases in the region, adding that Washington lacks a strategy for either entering or exiting the war.
