@MANOWAR The crown and the ring, three years ago, as entry song to the "altar". Met a few people there and then from the bride's side that I didn't expect to be Manowar fans.
@GergelyOrosz Yes, indeed. Equity is important but the board was VERY stingy about it. Probably because they were thinking about selling from an early stage. I was named CTO eventually and I convinced them to set up a shop in Spain to fight attrition, that worked well. Maybe it wouldn't now.
@GergelyOrosz We did that: We hired from the bottom tons of junior profiles and we mentored them. Once they learned the trade they moved to better paying companies with salaries we couldn't compete (GitHub, Google and others). The problem is not only the hiring but also retaining the talent.
@noctarius2k@sla_shalafi@hiergiltdiestfu A corollary from this: the three big religions are not in direct confrontation with each other. The three worship the same entity (God). The ones that set up (or not) the confrontation are the leaders of these by influenting the followers with their interpretation of their book
@noctarius2k@sla_shalafi@hiergiltdiestfu I think it's more fundamental than disagreeing with the ways of the other. It's more about "either you follow these rules or you won't reach paradise". It then depends on who says what the rules are. The pope of the time summoned the crusades, as an example.
@IksarHS The rest are also good (the ones I read) but I find Three Body Problem and The Wheel of Time particularly overrated. Also the last one is a huge commitment of time that, in hindsight, I'd rather spend with something else.
@IksarHS I "only" read 8 of these books so my advice might be incomplete, but:
1. The Martian. Easy to read, super funny.
2. Hyperion. Brutal. Mix of styles. One of my favorites.
3. Ender's game. Another to chill. Well written and enjoyable.
4. Dune. In the line of Hyperion. My favorite.
When I consider the success of Amazon relative to how embarrassingly bad their core mobile apps (Shopping, Alexa, and Kindle), it really makes me question whether anything I do matters...
Speaking of games in the office; the board game Diplomacy was banned after creating a bad work environment, and it's a miracle Hearts of Iron 2: Doomsday shipped at all since me and @producerjohan had an ongoing @FootballManager campaign at the time of development.
After trying and failing on playing @WeBeHarebrained 's @BATTLETECH_Game game with my 8 years old laptop, I decided and bought a new @Alienware. Spending 2K euros to play your favorite wargame in digital format… I guess I'm quite the hardcore fan.
At @MOBGEN we have an intern academy. Their first project is about to be launched in @kickstarter and it looks absolutely fantastic. https://t.co/bct8bJJHQ4
