When I tell people it's a common misconception that a certain scene was "mostly practical" and it fact it's almost entirely CGI, I'm often met with a "fact checking" AI chatbot screenshot confirming it's practical.

1/ Wedging sims in Houdini is folder-juggling hell.
You change a parameter, write a new cache, name it "sim_v002_friction35_FINAL," rinse and repeat.
There's a one-click fix that ships with Houdini and most artists ignore it.
If your pyro sims keep getting out of control, it’s probably velocity accumulation.
Continuous emissions = constant acceleration over time → messy, hard-to-direct results.
I made a short tutorial showing how to fix this in Houdini using Gas Damp as a counter-force to stabilize your sim without killing the source.
Simple setup. Big difference.
