Why is this still happening ? A fourth year told me he was being charged 1k for being a DO for a surgery sub I whereas the MD students weren’t. This is outrageous and disappointing.
Oh we are still discriminating against DO students for no reason?? One of my friends applying ortho sent this to me and it’s honestly a shame. Save your money come application time my DO ortho friends by not applying to a program like this.

Trying to tutor my brother through college statistics. What are these critical values and one sided tail tests 🤯 how did I do this before medical school??
As a prelim general surgery resident about to go on the interview trail again soon, I’m super disappointed hobbies were removed from the ERAS app. They were consistently the one thing that was always asked. How else will I stand out if not as the girl that flips furniture ?!
@WestinWong Just saying when I went through the app cycle last year my hobbies were the one thing that was consistently mentioned at every single interview I had and spurred great conversations. Sad that it was removed this year.
This! I remember working with my first third year med students and everyone was kind of ignoring them and I felt pressured to do the same. I snapped out of that real quick, I love mentoring and teaching and hope to change the rhetoric for future med students on rotations!
When I become a doctor I’m going to be as engaging with the medical students as I possibly can.
I will not forget feeling like I’m an invisible nuisance.
