I know countless people who still have to work tirelessly and countless hours just to pay rent.

They’re in their late 20s-30s, no saving, and are still single because “they haven’t had time to look for a partner” because of their job.

When I ask what their family is doing most say their parents are wealthy, retired, and having a blast.

When I ask them why their family won’t help them out so they can find a partner, their answer is always “they don’t believe in hand outs, I could never ask them for help”.

The boomers have successfully nuked their blood lines by hoarding all the wealth, telling their children they have to start at zero while they giggle and give all their money away to some “cause” or spend it on themselves.

They had no values, no long term vision, they taught “independence” over family while telling their kids they’re worthless if they don’t get rich.

This is a gigantic, existential misstep and it all falls completely on the shoulders of boomer fathers.

A truly clueless generation.

Osmo Wiio was a Finnish researcher of human communication. His laws of communication are the human communications equivalent of Murphy’s Laws.

Wiio's four laws state...

1. If communication can fail, it will.
2. If a message can be understood in different ways, it will be understood in just that way which does the most harm.
3. There is always somebody who knows better than you what you meant by your message.
4. The more communication there is, the more difficult it is for communication to succeed.

And I particularly like his observation that anytime there are two people conversing, there are actually six people in the conversation:

1. Who you think you are
2. Who you think the other person is
3. Who you think the other person thinks you are
4. Who the other person thinks they are
5. Who the other person thinks you are
6. Who the other person thinks you think they are.

I'd say he's spot on across the board.

"Tech debt" is when you intentionally shipped ahead of 100% done, and then need to go back and do it.

When the platform is now 10x or 100x larger, so major things need rewriting, that's not "debt," that's "evolution due to growth."
