This sculpture has really long history (more than 300 years). It's surprising that the artifact has survived The Cultural Revolution in China during 1970s, but thankfully we still lucky enough to admire the beauty of it in person.
@NicoleinJapann I believe it’s more appropriate to use the word customer because there’s no need to point out specific gender of the visitors. It’s a part of Japanese culture and society, just like the sexual industry there. Maybe we should pay more attention to beautiful shrines there…
