@BeelkJ2413@peterawolf A lot of German immigrants came after the failure of the liberal revolutions of 1848 because they were disappointed or prosecuted by their conservative so they were already politically really liberal and saw slavery as a moral evil
@Spaceykey1@TheNecza Not a lot of wars after 1700 in Europe were explicitly caused by religious causes more so by nationalism however that national identity is almost always linked to religion and linguistics there aren’t many European nation states without one distinct religious identity
@Spaceykey1@TheNecza Which branch of Christianity they follow already is a massive difference do you realize how many wars that exact difference has caused in Europe
@lyndonbajohnson@thelinedrive Not on expert on this but I do know all the people certifying the safety of those refinerys, pipelines and wells have their offices along I-10 towards Katy
@address_fojr @jewndahalfmen Prussia as a state also resisted Nazism quite strongly especially the police and bureaucracy that is why the Preußenschlag was required.
@137x1@TimEppy@konstructivizm Just in case you’re curious this video has good overlook of von Brauns membership of the SS and work for the Nazis https://t.co/fK0qBqdbHw I think it does show how complex the topic is
@137x1@TimEppy@konstructivizm I don’t know that some probably did others definitely didn’t but at least for von Braun There are actual sources That obviously doesn’t mean Paperclip wasn’t morally questionable and objectively abhorrent things were done by those scientists
@137x1@TimEppy@konstructivizm I mean he actively complained to the SS after seeing the conditions of the forced laborers and was told to stay in his lane. And his arrest by the SS for being too focused on science is also telling. obviously doesn’t excuse the countless deaths and suffering his work caused
